O’SHEA JACKSON JR: STRAIGHT OUTTA WOODLAND HILLS

We can’t imagine rapper Ice Cube ever going to a farmer’s market, but his lookalike son O’Shea Jackson Jr and his girlfriend had a good time at the Studio City farmer’s market today. O’Shea played his father in Straight Outta Compton and DOES resemble him, except for one important thing – Ice Cube is always scowling and O’Shea is usually smiling. O’Shea filmed scenes for Ingrid Goes West at our house a few years ago, and he was surprisingly friendly and well-spoken. Turns out he graduated from USC…

LAURA DERN’S TEEN DAUGHTER JAYA HAS MORE THAN BOYFRIENDS ON HER MIND

Laura Dern’s career is going great guns, but her best friend and red carpet companion is always her daughter Jaya, 15. Jaya’s father is handsome musician Ben Harper – her parents divorced amicably in 2013. Jaya loves dressing up for Hollywood events, but Laura has set a good example for her daughter – both are Time’s Up activists. What’s more, Jaya also participates in MeToo events, gun safety demonstrations, and the Freedom for Immigration march. And she’s only a sophomore in high school!

JANICE DICKINSON’S DAUGHTER WAS BORN INTO A TABLOID SCANDAL

It’s Janice Dickinson and her long-suffering daughter Savannah. Certainly it wasn’t easy growing up with wild and crazy model Janice. Savannah’s birth in 1994 was a juicy tabloid story. Janice happened to be dating Sylvester Stallone when she became pregnant and convinced him the baby was HIS. Ever the gentleman, he immediately set her up in a fancy apartment and paid all her medical bills. The baby was born Savannah Rodin Stallone. After the tabloids started writing that the baby was not HIS, Stallone got a DNA test and found out they were RIGHT! Yes, Janice had been cheating with someone else! Stallone was hugely embarrassed and Savannah lost her famous last name. She’s now working as an actress and occasional crew member under the name Savannah Rodin.

There’s something comforting about the fact that former Charlie’s Angel Jaclyn Smith never lets us down. Here she is, shopping in Beverly Hills, looking somewhat perturbed by her shopping companion, but as beautiful as ever in her seventies. Concentrating on her design work with K-Mart and other businesses has made Jaclyn worth around 90 million dollars today. Certainly the most successful surviving “Angel.”

SIMON COWELL AND THE PAPARAZZI DIET

Simon Cowell is MORE than happy to pose shirtless with female fans on the beach in Barbados since he lost twenty pounds. In fact, he’s so thrilled with his new look that he hasn’t worn a shirt on the beach since he arrived for his annual vacation. Simon vacations with his wife and son at the same place in Barbados every year during the Christmas holidays so he’s quite predictable and paparazzi wait for him. Simon didn’t try to avoid them this year. Maybe that was part of his motivation for losing weight – call it “the paparazzi diet.”

WHO DOES CAITLYN JENNER WANT TO LOOK LIKE?

There’s been a lot of discussion this week about fans mistaking Courteney Cox for Caitlin Jenner in a photo that David Spade posted on Instagram. Courtney had a sense of humor about it and we’re sure than Caitlyn was flattered. To be honest, we always though Caitlyn Jenner got her fashion inspiration from Helen Hunt. They’re both slim and athletic, (golf, anyone?) have similar hairstyles, and often wear athletic apparel. Actually, Caitlyn could do no wrong looking like either Courteney or Helen…

Hair! Incognito Rachel Brosnahan The Marvelous Mrs Maisel

FAME IS NOT YET A PROBLEM FOR RACHEL BROSNAHAN

Rachel Brosnahan is promoting the third season of her hugely popular series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, yet she’s able to walk around New York pretty much incognito. (Keep in mind she’s already won seven awards for the show.) Part of it is the fact that Rachel is naturally blonde and her Midge character is a brunette. She went back to blonde for the spy drama Ironbark with Benedict Cumberbatch, that’s premiering at Sundance in January. Rachel says that when she leaves the house with no lipstick, dress, or heels, she’s rarely recognized.

SOMEDAY WE WILL ALL KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE SAOIRSE RONAN’S NAME

Saoirse Ronan arrived at a morning show in London to discuss her movie Little Women, and she’s appropriately attired in pajamas. (Even SHE pronounces her name in several ways – depending who she’s talking to) She’s only 25, but Saoirse has already been nominated for THREE Oscars and she won Best Actress for Brooklyn (which we LOVED) a few years ago. Little Women got her a Golden Globe nomination this year, but Renee Zellweger will be hard to beat. People are already calling Saoirse the next Meryl Streep , and we have to agree.

Islam Sinead O'Connor

NOTHING COMPARES TO SINEAD O’CONNOR

Sinead O’Conner was one of the most controversial – and melancholy – Irish singers of the 90’s. She shaved her head to rebel against traditional roles for women, wore shapeless clothing, and was usually angry about something either religious or political. In 1992 she famously tore up a picture of the Pope on SNL and SHOCKED Lorne Michaels and everyone else at the time. (Funny how not-so-sensational that seems now.) She railed against the Catholic church for sexually abusing children, but managed to get HERSELF ordained a priest. Maintaining that she is NOT bi-polar, Sinead converted to Islam last year – hence the traditional attire at a recent UK concert.

American Idol Cats Jennifer Hudson

JENNIFER HUDSON IS A WINNER NOW

Back in 2004 American Idol was extremely popular, but we never found it very interesting – and Simon Cowell’s smug attitude didn’t help any. The show is proud of bragging that Jennifer Hudson was a “finalist” that year, but actually she placed SEVENTH! Of course she has the last laugh now, Jennifer is one of the most successful losers from the show. She’s currently starring in the movie Cats, and looks better than ever after her lucrative stint with Weight Watchers.
