Clint Eastwood loves a hero, (and an occasional heroine) so it makes perfect sense that HE would develop the story of Sully Sullenberger, the courageous airline pilot who saved 155 people with his perfect crash landing on the Hudson River. In 2009, Captain Sullenberger’s flight was interrupted by a flock of geese caught in the engines and after he carefully guided the plane into the water, he made sure every passenger was safely removed. Sully was a national hero and his modesty made him even more appealing. Who could better play that role than nice guy Tom Hanks? Perfect casting. Above, Eastwood and Hanks discuss the next scene they’re filming on location in NYC.

Certainly “hats off” to Sully, but since everyone knows how this turned out, it seems the movie would be boring.
An entire movie based on a five minute indecent? OK then.
this will suck….why bother??
no thanks.
@Justsayin,
I totally agree, they reenacted this on a Mayday episode, even that was a stretch.
Regardless, it was great airmanship.
not any doubts about this born-winner!!
Hollywood rubbish pile
Great story but probably more appropriate for a made for tv movie than a real movie!
Maybe Clint can jazz it up, and make the story a nail-biter.
Good photo of Eastwood. Is it just me or does Hanks look a little like Richard Dreyfuss from the side (at least in this picture).
