Wonder Woman

LYNDA CARTER STILL LOOKS LIKE WONDER WOMAN

Nice to see the original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter looking adorable at a CNN Heroes All-Star Tribute in NY. We have two odd links to her. First of all, years ago her stylist /designer was a close friend and used to give us fashions he made for her that she only wore once, so we we were able to go out to the clubs wearing some fabulous Lynda Carter outfits. Many years later we bought a mid-century house in LA and another friend who happened to be a Wonder Woman fan, found an episode that was filmed right in front of the house, years before we bought it! So we feel a connection, and like to see Lynda doing well!

LYNDA CARTER MADE THE MOST OF ISOLATION

Hard to believe that TV’s Wonder Woman Lynda Carter is now 68 years old, but she looks great and now has a career as a singer, entertaining in clubs across the country. She was planning to tour this year with her daughter Jessica, 29, who’s also a singer, but coronavirus scuttled their plans. They ended up socially isolating together and Lynda wants everyone to know that she has loved spending so much unexpected time with Jessica…

WHAT WE LIKED ABOUT WONDER WOMAN

The opening scene introduces the island of fierce Amazons magically protected from men and the outside world. They’re supposedly dedicated to their own peaceful, loving society, but are incessantly and violently training to fight. (It’s the 1940’s – couldn’t they find a more scientific way to defend themselves?) The ridiculously sexy metal and leather costumes seemed over the top until one remembers that male superheroes are equally sexualized. Everyone on the Amazon island was cleverly trained to speak with the same light Israeli accent that gorgeous star Gal Gadot has. We LOVED the way Wonder Woman frequently questioned the morals and intelligence of war-mongering men she encountered when she left the island. And we LOVED her first shopping experience. But the relentless and numbingly monotonous fight scenes just kept interrupting. If an hour of explosive violence were cut out, it would be a better movie.

LYNDA CARTER: TAKE A CHANCE ON WONDER WOMAN

The one and only Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, has a new business venture. She unveiled Bally’s new “Wonder Woman” slot machines at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. She also autographed photos of herself as “Wonder Woman” for fans. The slot machines are based on her TV character and we presume she gets a healthy cut of the profits. Lynda, 63, still performs as a singer occasionally.

KRIS JENNER IS PROUD TO CALL HERSELF WONDER WOMAN

#krisjenner #janetcharlton

The award for the first really bad costume of the Halloween season goes to – Kris Jenner. She tweeted this photo of herself done up in a “mom” version of Wonder Woman. The tacky costume looks like it came from a discount store – it has baggy shorts and long sleeves. Lynda Carter has nothing to worry about.
