We have nothing against PLAID, but Nick Nolte is giving it a bad name. Pajama bottoms for shopping in Malibu? Nick actually resembles his notorious mug shot with that crazy hair and beard. (Keep in mind, at one time he was a HOT commodity and Barbra Streisand had a huge crush on him.) Amazingly, Nick can pull himself together when he gets an acting job – and in fact, he’s never out of work.

It was surprising to learn that Alicia Vikander, who starred with Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl, is Swedish. Granted, she’s quite beautiful, but she’s also whimsical and has a very powerful personality. Her accent is almost nonexistent. In the film she plays the adorable and talented wife that Eddie’s character always wanted to BE. We weren’t so fond of Eddie’s character, but no one could have done a better job with that difficult role. And we DO love his plaid suit.

We never thought we’d encounter a plaid we didn’t like, but – here it is. Jessica Simpson left a business meeting in a New York office building dressed like THIS. (Doesn’t she look around at other women on the street?) Her skirt is WAY too short, and paired with 7 inch heels, looks tired. And absurdly impractical. Just because you have great legs doesn’t mean you have to show them all the time! Jessica’s shapeless and boxy top doesn’t give us any confidence in her design talent, either. Everyone makes mistakes…

One more reason why we think the Beckhams are among the best dressed – and best looking- couples in the world. David’s plaid suit (can’t get enough of that!) is delectable and beautifully accessorized. Pregnant Victoria looks luscious and subtle in creamy beige without revealing any baby evidence. We’re depending on her NOT to resort to wearing skin tight dresses when her pregnancy becomes more obvious.
