THIS IS THE CAKE TOM CRUISE MADE FAMOUS

For years, Tom Cruise has been sending practically everyone in his address book the same Christmas present, a white chocolate coconut Bundt cake from Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills. As the story goes, his then wife, Katie Holmes was introduced to the cake by her Mad Money costar, Diane Keaton and it was love at first bite for Tom. Year after year we are bombarded with various celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell posting photos of the luscious cake she just received from Tom on social media so we finally caved in and gave it a try. We’re not Tom’s biggest fan, but when it comes to cakes he really knows his stuff. Now informally known as “the Tom Cruise cake” it was BEYOND delicious, well worth the price and every calorie!

CHRIS MARTIN AND JENNIFER LAWRENCE: LET THEM EAT CAKE

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin decided to go public with their resumed relationship by having dinner together at Madeo. Our spy noted that they looked very playful and friendly during the meal. After they ate, the waiter brought the dessert tray with a flourish. Chris was about to say no thanks, but Jennifer eyed the luscious pastries and insisted “We HAVE to pick one to share!” Martin is accustomed to his estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow FORBIDDING dessert, but he gamely selected a slice of millefiori multi layer Italian cake. And he seemed to enjoy every bite as much as Jennifer did. Yum.

JENNIFER ANISTON: WHO WANTS TO PAY FOR A DEPRESSING MOVIE?

Jennifer Aniston is thrilled beyond words because she finally got to play a serious character in a movie that is NOT a romantic comedy. And she does it without makeup or hair extensions. But she may be one of the few fans of the movie “Cake,” set to be released in January. Her character Claire has suffered an unbearable loss and been left in constant pain. Her perfect life (she and her husband were successful lawyers with a gorgeous home) is disintegrating. She’s addicted to pain pills and bitterness. Miserable Claire is difficult to relate to, and usually Jennifer is very relatable. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that the script was written by man. Claire is painful to be around and painful to watch. While Jennifer is believable, the movie’s unpleasant subject matter is not appealing, and we’ll be surprised if it attracts much of an audience.

Anne Hathaway Cake Robert DeNiro The Intern

CAN ANNE HATHAWAY HAVE HER CAKE AND EAT IT TOO? NOPE…

If Anne Hathaway is still wondering why so many people seem to hate her online, here’s a possible reason. Page Six revealed that while filming “The Intern” in New York with Robert DeNiro (photo above,) Anne was supposed to take a bite of chocolate cake for one scene. She’s fussy about what she eats and insisted on having gluten-free vegan cake for her scene. An assistant from the prop department was immediately dispatched to FIND suitable cake and rushed back to the set with it as soon as possible. If the story is accurate, it won’t do anything to improve Anne’s likeability.

JENNIFER ANISTON SUCCEEDS AT BECOMING A PLAIN JANE

We barely recognized Jennifer Aniston in character for the role she’s filming for the movie “Cake.” That’s quite a makeunder. Actually we think it’s a wig and not her own hair so when she leaves at the end of the day she looks good again. The movie is described as a comedy/drama, but it’s the story of a woman who was in a traumatic fatal car accident and ends up in a chronic pain support group. Sam Worthington, Anna Kendrick and Felicity Huffman costar.

“The New Girl” Zooey Deschanel is obviously insecure about her cooking skills so she brought her big cookbook, open to a cake page, to Gelson’s market while shopping for ingredients. She aims to impress SOMEBODY with her fancy New Years cake, and that somebody might be her new boyfriend screenwriter Jamie Linden. It’s chilly in Los Angeles and those are ear muffs she’s wearing with her pea coat.
