Boy George (with Culture Club) was so much fun in the 80’s that we’re glad to see him back! ”My God” is the second single from his comeback album “This is What I Do” and it’s mesmerizing in a fashiony kind of way. He seems to be preaching some form of tolerance in this song. Sometimes it’s not easy to look at a bearded man wearing lip gloss, but if anyone can pull it off, George can.
It looks like Boy George really DID turn over a new leaf after he got out of prison in the UK. You’ll recall he served time a few years ago for “imprisoning” a male escort in a drug-fueled frenzy. George says he’s been sober since March 2008, and he actually has a successful career as a club DJ. (The same job he had before the band Culture Club was formed.) In fact the 80’s icon told Punk Globe that he’s just finishing a world club tour and also has a record company where he remixes and creates dance music. Boy George showed up at Vivienne Westwood’s London Fashion Week show dressed within his physical and financial limits. George is trying to angle a job as a judge on a talent competition like “The X Factor,” but he wants a very large budget for his wardrobe. He brought a friend dressed in head to toe latex and we’re not sure if it’s a male or female. We’re guessing male.
We’re guessing that Gavin Rossdale had some serious ‘splaining to do to his wife Gwen Stefani after his startling interview with Details magazine in which he finally verified his youthful affair with another man. Rumors of Gavin’s teenage fling with gender bending 80’s performer Marilyn (real name Peter Robinson) who was a close friend of Boy George, have floated for years. Marilyn insisted Gavin was “the love of my life.” (young Gavin and Marilyn both look rather girly in photo above) Boy George backed him up, and after years of dismissing the stories, Gavin has come clean. He said it was “experimental.” Immediately after giving the interview Gavin is said to have panicked and asked to have his confession removed, but the magazine refused. Gavin realized his wife didn’t know about the affair, but she certainly does now. How do you think Gwen reacted to the news?
