CAN MADONNA DIRECT BETTER THAN SHE CAN ACT?

Madonna is relieved since Harvey Weinstein bought the distribution rights for her movie called “W.E.” about a modern woman obsessed with the Duchess of Windsor. However, people who’ve seen it have given it mixed reviews – some saying it has more style than substance. One observer compared it to a Chanel perfume ad. Which is not a bad thing – the period wardrobe (some of it by Galliano) and sets are said to be quite sumptuous for a small budget film. But the script, written by Madonna and her friend Alek >Keshishian is somewhat confusing. Whether Madonna likes it or not, Harvey Weinstein is recutting the movie to make it more palatable to viewers. (Above, Madonna is directing Abbie Cornish)

Abbie Cornish Couples Josh Hartnett Ryan Philippe

JOSH HARTNETT AND ABBIE CORNISH: STILL GOING STRONG

They haven’t been seen together for a couple of months so it looked like maybe Josh Hartnett and Ryan Philippe’s ex, Abbie Cornish, had fizzled out. But here they are in New York, having lunch on a warm day. They were spotted keeping company in Los Angeles in April when Abbie was filming “The Dark Fields” with Bradley Cooper. Now the relationship has extended to the other coast so it appears to have some longevity.
Update: Readers insist this is NOT Abbie, but a dead ringer that Josh has been dating in New York. We shall see…

RENEE ZELLWEGER: THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME

Newly single Abbie Cornish seems all wrapped up in conversation with her costar Bradley Cooper in New York. Abbie and Bradley are currently filming “The Dark Fields” in Central Park. Guess who came running around the corner to meet Bradley and hang out with him on the set! It’s Renee Zellweger, of course. And not a moment too soon. Her boyfriend Bradley has been known to have a roving eye and Abbie is quite a dish, so perhaps it’s fortuitous that Renee made an appearance!
