MTV comic Pauly Shore is living proof that Speedos and their spawn do not do any man justice. “The Weasel” is now 47 and his movie career (“Encino Man”) seems to be behind him. But Pauly is still on the road appearing at comedy clubs across the country, and he says he likes it. He also performs at his mother Mitzi’s club, The Comedy Store, frequently. He was photographed in this unfortunate swimsuit in Miami.

The house that Elvis Presley and his bride Priscilla occupied in 1966 to 1967 is up for sale in Palm Springs again. The mid-century structure is gorgeous – it consists of three round stories – there’s not a square corner in the whole place. Architect William Krisel designed the 4962 sq ft,4 bedroom 5 bath home in 1962, and all this magnificent house needs is a little love – and good taste. The tacky décor tries to look original but falls flat. The fireplace is a killer. Million dollar Listing realtors, the Altman brothers tried to sell the house for 8.5 million with no luck. It’s now listed at Trulia for less than 7 million. A loving restoration is in order.
Clint Eastwood loves a hero, (and an occasional heroine) so it makes perfect sense that HE would develop the story of Sully Sullenberger, the courageous airline pilot who saved 155 people with his perfect crash landing on the Hudson River. In 2009, Captain Sullenberger’s flight was interrupted by a flock of geese caught in the engines and after he carefully guided the plane into the water, he made sure every passenger was safely removed. Sully was a national hero and his modesty made him even more appealing. Who could better play that role than nice guy Tom Hanks? Perfect casting. We can’t wait to hear how Kanye West will react to the news that a UCLA fraternity held a “Kanye Western” themed party recently. Hopefully he will be flattered by the attention and have a good laugh. The Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, which is predominantly but not exclusively white, entertained around 150 students, dressed like rappers and thugs. No report on whether any Kim Kardashian lookalikes were there. Sounds like nothing but fun, but the campus African Students Union was reportedly appalled by the event, which they claimed “mocked black culture.” (Ironically, Kanye is wearing a Ramones T shirt in the above recent photo)

Australian model Miranda Kerr knows that black and white can do no wrong. The former wife of Orlando Bloom was surrounded by over and under-dressed fashion wanna-bes during Paris Fashion Week and she’s a standout for her utter simplicity. You don’t often see a crisp white blouse paired with a swingy flirty skirt with a lacey hem. Not too short and not too tight. With minimal effort, she looks fresh and appropriate.

Annette Bening must be the breadwinner in her family because we never see her husband Warren Beatty onscreen any more. She LOOKS like she’s ready to tune up a car or report for factory work in the overalls she’s wearing above. Actually she’s filming a new movie “20th Century Women” and it looks like a real winner. Mike Mills, who wrote and directed the sensitive and funny “Beginners” with Ewan McGregor, wrote and is directing this story about “women he knew growing up.” It’s the story of three diverse women exploring new freedoms and the beginning of the punk era in 1979 California, and it stars Annette, Greta Gerwig and Elle Fanning. We LOVE movies about women.

When it comes to fashion, the brilliant Janelle Monae, 29, is one of a kind. She has her own definitive style and never wavers. She’s not a performer who wears anything a famous designer gives her. She’s only 5 feet tall but Karl Lagerfeld recognizes her uniqueness and she appeared in his show wearing what she prefers – a black and white feminine version of a tuxedo. Janelle says she was influenced by Grace Jones and Josephine Baker, but her image is very original. To be honest, we’ve never heard her music, but we love looking at her. It’s comforting to see that Vin Diesel,48, lets himself go somewhat between action movies. His privacy was compromised when he walked out on the balcony of his Miami hotel and took his shirt off. It takes WORK to maintain that Fast & Furious physique. We remember the late 80’s – early 90’s when Vin was a doorman at various New York clubs – he was playfully charming and he had that DEEP voice that made people pay attention.

We’ve seen Amal Clooney in a ton of fabulous outfits for many fancy occasions, but she actually DOES go to work. This is how she looks walking out of Doughty Street Chambers in London where she works as an international lawyer. You KNOW she’s serious because she has a big leather bag and George is not around. Her pinstripe suit and white shirt are subtle and appropriate. (Two words the Kardashians are not familiar with) We never dreamed we’d be saying such nice things about a LAWYER!

It’s been a big year for Elvis Presley’s beautiful granddaughter Riley Keough, 26. She married an Australian stuntman, Ben Smith-Peterson, and she just finished starring in an anthology series for Starz called The Girlfriend Experience. Riley plays a successful NY career girl who becomes fascinated when a friend introduces her to the world of transactional relationships – where men PAY to spend time with attractive women. Almost like a real girlfriend, but money changes hands. Hence, the business is called “The Girlfriend Experience.” In the photo above, Riley is promoting the series at Cannes. A few days ago she walked the runway in the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week.
