KIEFER IS HOLLYWOOD’S DESIGNATED SURVIVOR

The title “Designated Survivor“ applies perfectly to the series star Kiefer Sutherland, 52. As we all know (and he concedes) Kiefer is a bigtime boozer – who can forget that photo of him in a bar with his pants around his ankles? Kiefer is the first to admit that almost every bad thing that’s ever happened to him is because he likes to go to bars and drink. His “24” costar Freddie Prinze called him “the most unprofessional dude in the world” and hated working with him. Although he has NOT given up drinking, Kiefer still manages to get one high paying acting job after another and numerous beautiful girlfriends. Case in point: Cindy Vela, above, has been with Kiefer for five years, through think and thin -or should we say wet and dry. Kiefer has MORE than survived….

KELLY OSBOURNE LIKES HER MEN TALL, DARK, AND UNUSUAL

Kelly Osbourne has been showing off her new boyfriend Jimmy Q (real name James Quaintance) all over town for the past few weeks. Kelly loves “discovering” unique characters and her new beau is a pro-skateboarder, a model, musician, and tattoo artist. We would have guessed he was from London, but he actually grew up in “skatertown” AKA Venice, California. His unique looks do get him modeling jobs in the UK, however. What the heck, Kelly’s having fun, and Jimmy’s most evident vice so far is his constant smoking.

ROBERT DENIR0 – MORE LAID BACK THAN WE’RE USED TO SEEING

If Robert De Niro is looking a bit more scruffy and relaxed these days it just might be due to the fact that he split with his wife of 21 years Grace Hightower. Ebony magazine says that Grace kept Robert on a tight leash (which he probably needed) – she was involved in many charities and wanted him to look respectable in public at all times. That meant freshly shaved, neat haircut, and well dressed. Robert prefers to let it all hang out between movies and be himself. There were also rumors that Grace was a Trump supporter.(?) Friends agree that they are both happier since the split and Robert hardly looks like the movie tough guy he plays so well in this cozy photo with his dogs and his cute daughter Helen.

MELISSA MCCARTHY IS NOT ABOVE BARGAIN HUNTING

Melissa McCarthy got up early Sunday for the Long Beach flea market, and she must be a serious shopper because she brought her own cart. Not sure why, but Southern California flea markets are among the best in the world. Melissa pulled out a baseball cap and a fanny pack and browsed every booth. By the end of the day her cart was packed with vintage clothing, rugs, tchotchkes (home décor) art, and at least one pair of shoes. A good time was had by all

COLIN JOST STILL CAN’T BELIEVE HIS GOOD LUCK

Scarlett Johansson, 34, has never looked better! She seems deliriously happy with her current boyfriend, SNL writer and Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost. (Never underestimate the importance of a good laugh.) Colin, 36, still seems a bit stiff and reluctant when posing on the red carpet with his girlfriend of two years, but he’d better get used to it. After all, Scarlett IS the highest paid actress in Hollywood! The cool couple appeared at the lavish premier of Scarlett’s latest film, Avengers: Endgame, at LA’s Convention Center.

GIGI HADID: MODELS DO GET TIRED OF DRESSING UP!

Gigi Hadid decided she wanted her friends to really relax and enjoy her 24th birthday party and not feel obliged to dress up in suits, ties, and high heels. She declared it a denim party so everyone could wear their most comfortable jeans, and she held her party at a hip new NY restaurant, L’Avenue, situated on the top two floors of Saks Fifth Avenue. Like it or not, California casual is infiltrating all of New York.

BLAST FROM THE PAST: LINDA EVANS AND PATRICK DUFFY IN MONACO

No sooner did The National Enquirer write about Dynasty star Linda Evans “Living out her days alone as a recluse” than Linda turned up at a Princess Grace tribute in Monaco with pony-tailed Dallas star Patrick Duffy. (TWO 80’s primetime soap stars!) Linda DOES live on a 70 acre ranch in Washington state -she moved there to be closer to JZ Knight, a “spiritual advisor” who has been described as a cult leader. Knight claims to “channel” a 35,000 year old “spirit” who gives advice. She may lack common sense, but Linda has always been an exceptionally nice and kind person – especially with fans. Nice to see she’s out and about…

NO DOUBT, IT’S FAMILY FIRST FOR GWEN STEFANI

Easter is a big day for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton and her three sons. First the group went to church together and afterward they stopped off at Ralph’s supermarket on La Brea (our neighborhood!) to pick up some snacks -cheese, drinks etc. (Our spy says they shopped like a married couple) Armed with treats, the family plus one, arrived at the home of Gwen’s parents for holiday dinner. Blake really seems to get along with Gwen’s sons.

JACK PRATT IS HAVING A PERFECT EASTER SUNDAY

Nice to see a happily blended family in Hollywood. Chris Pratt took his fiancé Katherine Schwarzenegger to mass in Santa Monica on Easter Sunday along with his son Jack. Jack, 6, lives with his mother – Chris’s ex-wife Anna Faris – and the three adults seem to get along really well. Chris brought Jack along on many of his early dates with Katherine to make sure the chemistry was right before he took the relationship to the next level. When they divorced, Chris and Anna agreed to live no more than 6 miles apart so they could share custody of Jack. Apparently the Easter Bunny gave Jack the stuffed lion he’s carrying.

PHARRELL: IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT LOOKING LIKE A NICE GUY

Lots of celebrities show up to help and serve food when the skid row LA Mission downtown has a special holiday meal for the homeless. Pharrell Williams is a frequent participant and unlike many celebs, he has more on his mind than being photographed looking like a generous person. Pharrell and his wife brought their son
Rocket to volunteer with them at the Easter meal on Good Friday to teach him about giving back.
