THE TWO THINGS WE FOUND MOST MEMORABLE FROM THE BILLBOARD AWARDS

First of all, Halsey. The show was loaded with special effects and huge, extravagant performances, but Halsey’s ultra-simple but exquisite and perfectly choreographed romantic song Without Me is the one we found amazing. Her voice was powerful throughout the acrobatic dance and the fact that her partner was a woman only made it more intense.

Second, Maluma. Leave it to Madonna to find the most delicious Hispanic male singer as a performance partner. Suddenly everyone has discovered Colombian Maluma, above, thanks to Miss M, and we can just IMAGINE Madonna conspiring to seduce this 25 year old cutie!

RAMI MALEK’S GIRLFRIEND IS A WELCOME DISTRACTION

Some people are definitely better than others when it comes to keeping a low profile. Hard to imagine that the man who won the Best Actor Oscar this year starring in Bohemian Rhapsody could spend an afternoon strolling in downtown Manhattan virtually unnoticed – but Rami Malek pulled it off! (The surreptitious photographer snapped him from a distance and kept it a secret.) It helps that all eyes are attracted to his beautiful girlfriend (and costar) Lucy Boynton. The Mr Robot star is just gearing up to star as the main villain in the new James Bond film, Bond 25 (working title.)

FRAN DRESCHER IS BACK IN ACTION

Fran “The Nanny” Drescher is looking adorable at the Tribeca Film Festival and she’s happy to be working again. She’s promoting her movie Safe Spaces – she plays Justin Long’s Jewish mother and he plays an NYU professor having MeToo era problems at work. Fran ALSO has a new comedy for NBC called Uninsured in which a young couple find themselves having to guide the husbands bigspender parents through a financial crisis. Fran has become quite a women’s health activist since she survived cancer. Married twice, Fran is now single, but admits she does some “online dating…”

BANKSY STRIKES AGAIN!

We have to confess we have a soft spot for the UK artist Banksy and his whimsical social commentary. His stenciled public art appears out of nowhere to promote his views and is immediately worth a fortune. Last week the Extinction Rebellion group (Emma Thompson is a supporter) protested the government’s lack of involvement in climate change because they “seek to minimize the risk of ecological collapse.” (Needless to say, they are not fond of our fossil fuel loving president.) After the closing ceremony this artwork appeared on a nearby wall. Art experts say it’s genuine and worth over a million dollars. Local council members rushed to protect it with a clear cover because it already suffered some defacement – the red and blue writing and the yellow leaflet.

BOY BANDS LIKE NCT 127 HAVE SPAWNED “MASCULINITY TRAINING CLUBS” IN CHINA

NCT 127 is just the latest K-pop boy band gaining popularity at a rate that is alarming to many Chinese. These boys who wear makeup, earrings and fancy clothes – and are adored by girls – are perceived as sissies and a threat to the masculine culture of China. An organization called Alpha Club has been established to teach boys how to be strong, confident, and masculine. Boys as young as 7 play American football and endure military discipline to become Alpha males. No makeup allowed.

JACK QUAID: ROMANTIC COMEDIES RUN IN THE FAMILY

Jack Quaid, 27, definitely inherited his mother Meg Ryan’s smile, and that won’t do him any harm in his film career. The NYU grad got his first break in The Hunger Games in 2012, and now he’s starring in a romantic comedy, Plus One, at the Tribeca Film Festival. (It got decent reviews and was described as “well lit,” which means it’s not dreary and dark like so many films lately.) The story’s about platonic friends who agree to be each other’s “plus ones” during a summer full of weddings. Of course his mom Meg is the undisputed queen of romantic comedies, so Jack has a lot to live up to. Jack took his girlfriend of two years, actress Lizzy McGroder, to the premier.

JOSEPH BAENA LIVED UP TO HIS FATHER’S EXPECTATIONS


Joseph Baena is out on the town celebrating his graduation from Pepperdine University. He started life in the middle of a scandal – he was the result of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s affair with his Guatemalan housekeeper. The devastating situation was the cause of Arnold’s divorce from Maria Shriver. Over the years Arnold took an active interest in his lookalike son and not only worked out in the gym with him, but guided his education. After four years of hard work, Arnold proudly announced that Joseph earned his degree in business. Joseph, 21, says the University and people he met there changed his life forever. THE DOLAN TWINS HAVE A LOT OF GOOD HAIR DAYS

We found this photo of two cute guys leaving Gracias Madre in West Hollywood and the paparazzi identified them as The Dolan Twins. Who knew? Turns out they are 19 year old twins – Ethan and Grayson Dolan – from New Jersey who’ve turned themselves into comedic YouTube stars. They have millions of followers and a recent meet-up with their London fans turned into a chaotic riot and had to be canceled. JERSEY SHORE CONTINUES TO EVOLVE – OR DEVOLVE

ARE HILARY DUFF’S ARMS LONGER THAN HER LEGS?

The answer is NO – but it sure looks that way in this weird photo. Part of the problem is the photographer’s odd angle, but most of the blame goes on that godawful dress.
