A few weeks ago we wrote about the horrifying fact that Covid frequently causes hair loss as a side effect. Hair starts thinning a few months after recovery and goes on for at least a year. Whether the hair grows back is not yet known. Certainly there are more than a few people in Hollywood who who be horrified by this- especially guys already worried about losing their hair. In this video Alyssa Milano (She had Covid in 2020) backs up this undesirable side effect.

SELMA BLAIR: A RESTRAINING ORDER? REALLY?

How quickly this relationship degenerated from playful and fun to a restraining order! Selma Blair and her boyfriend Ron Carlson have been very public with their relationship for YEARS – granted, it’s been off and on, but he stuck by her through her devastating MS diagnosis and subsequent adjustments. Recently Selma acquired her new service dog Scout who responds to her every need – could he have contributed to this disastrous split? It’s definitely a “He Said She Said” situation with both Selma and Ron charging the other with violence and denying their own. It’s a sad way to break up….

VIRGIL ABLOH: THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

Sadly, the late Virgil Abloh’s last collection for Louis Vuitton (Fall/Winter 2022) was shown in Paris and it emphasized what a loss he is to the design world. Not only did Abloh combine streetwear with luxury fashion, but he presented functional gender-free dressing in an appealing way. Models all had unstyled, tousled hair, and none wore makeup – which increased the neutrality factor. (Will this ever catch on for the overdone Kardashians?) Abloh’s non-gender garments consisted of oversize trousers for women and dresses and skirts for men, but we cannot help but wonder about sizing. Will the non-gender items be available in a huge array of sizes or will they all be “oversize?“

KATHY GRIFFIN HAS NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THE KARDASHIANS

Kathy Griffin was quick to point out that Balenciaga and Kim Kardashian were not the first to use caution tape for the purpose of fashion. Griffin posted this vintage photo on Instagram captioned “Ahead of my time.” She did NOT have a negative word to say about Kim because she used to live next door to Kim and Kanye and Kim’s whole family was very nice to her – especially when she was blackballed for that photo of her with Donald Trump’s “head.” Kathy says most of her anti-Trump friends abandoned her at that time but the Kardashians were always good to her and she’s grateful.

WILMER VALDERRAMA: NO MORE WOMEN WITH PROBLEMS

Wilmer Valderrama has been looking rather hot on NCIS – he’s come a long way since That 70’s Show. We remember back in the early 2000s when Wilmer was dating Lindsay Lohan. He tried his best to hold that relationship together but Lindsay was having diabolical mental health issues and landed in the hospital. After a few months he gave up the difficult romance. But he seems to be attracted to girls with problems – his next long term girlfriend (six years!) was Demi Lovato, who continues to struggle with her own set of difficulties. Eventually Wilmer, 42, hooked up with statuesque model Amanda Pacheco, who also happens to be an experienced diver. They got engaged and had a baby daughter last year. So far so good…

PARIS FASHION WEEK: IT’S ALL ABOUT ABS

This week Paris designers are featuring their Fall/Winter collections 2022, and they all seem to have something in common: female abs are visible both day and night whatever the weather. Miu Miu’s streetwear collection (above) featured dozens of ways for a woman to show off her abs with chop tops and teensy miniskirts. Certainly this tummy display will start trends in body make-up to flatter the stomach area and plastic surgeons should expect a jump in liposuction patients… Are YOU ready for this look?

KIM KARDASHIAN IN A STICKY SITUATION

To Kanye’s dismay, Kim Kardashian turned heads at the Balenciaga show in Paris when she walked in wearing head-to-toe Balenciaga caution tape wrapped around her body from her neck to the soles of her boots. Turns out it actually IS caution tape that four Balenciaga assistants stuck to her black bodysuit backstage before the show. And when Kim walked, her outfit made a noisy sticky sound – like tape being yanked off. The eye-catching garment was such a hit that it’s likely to be added to the fashion collection- so you can have one too!

THE THING ABOUT RENEE…

At first glance this could be some celebrity’s assistant schlepping Starbucks coffee back to her boss and his friends, but it is actually a major movie star doing the schlepping. The unpretentious Renee Zellweger doesn’t mind running errands herself – she’s in New York promoting her new NBC true crime series The Thing About Pam. We were astonished by her transformation into the leading character who is much larger than Renee. Renee did NOT gain weight for the part – her look was all done with prosthetics, and it’s quite amazing. In real life Renee is still living in Laguna Beach and walking dogs with her boyfriend Ant Anstead.

HEY- WHAT’S THAT ON MALUMA’S HEAD ?

Here’s something you don’t see very often – a famous singer in a suit wearing a babushka. Of course, Maluma is not the FIRST famous guy to wear a headscarf in this Eastern European grandma style – the first was rapper ASAP Rocky, who took considerable teasing for it. Colombian born singer Maluma, 28, who has performed with Madonna, loves unique and colorful fashion, and he’s not above wearing pearls, but he draws the line at skirts, so the babushka is a surprise. Lately he’s been bleaching his hair a fetching platinum blonde so maybe he’s got his hair covered today to conceal black roots…

WHAT ROLE DOES PUTIN’S HEIGHT PLAY IN THIS WAR?

We’re not sure if Vladimir Putin is taller or shorter than Tom Cruise, but he is equally self-conscious about his height. There’s considerable online discussion about the carefully guarded secret of his actual height but the general opinion is from 5’3 to 5’6.” He’s been wearing hidden lifts in his shoes for YEARS – especially in situations where he has to stand next to taller heads of state for photographs. Smaller men have to be more assertive. His ego, which prompts him to wear lifts, is also fueling this aggressive war in Ukraine which has made him the most important man in the world right now.
