OSCAR ISAAC IS THE LATEST ACTOR TO EMBRACE MAN-SKIRTS

Further proof that Hollywood men are becoming more open-minded about wearing skirts. Of course, certain fashion conscious rappers have been doing this for awhile, but straight actors not from Scotland- not so often. Designer Thom Browne is proving to have a major influence when it comes to men in skirts – as you can see in this photo of Oscar Isaac. The Guatemala born actor has been wearing skirts to most of the publicity events for his new Disney series Moon Knight – about a man with multiple personalities. Costars Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy are in this photo taken at a special screening at the British Museum. Looks like Ethan can’t take his eyes off Oscar’s Thom Browne skirt-suit and stripe socks.

HERE COMES THE BRIDE/GROOM

We are REALLY feeling the loss of Virgil Abloh now that we’ve seen his last men’s collection for Fall/Winter 2022-23. It’s even better than the women’s. Virgil was adored for the fresh idea of elevating designer streetwear and introducing genderless styles. We were particularly struck by this “bridal” look that could either be worn by a bride or a groom. (Combat boots with a veil!) He made it perfectly acceptable for men to desire and buy styles designed for women and vice versa. Genderless fashion is certainly the future – the sizing just has to be figured out. (Kanye West can only DREAM about being as talented as VA)

LUKA SABBAT: THE TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE

“Influential fashion model” and occasional actor on the sitcom Grown-ish, Luka Sabbat, 24, is seen here arriving at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica for dinner. (You probably remember him best because of his fling with Kourtney Kardashian a few years back.) He’s with Jasmine Daniels, a gorgeous model he’s been seen with off and on since last year. It’s complicated. In 2019, Jasmine was dating Luka’s good friend A$AP Rocky, who is now about to become a father with Rihanna. Jasmine has modeled with both Rocky and Sabbat for Calvin Klein. Although Luka has been seen in the company of other women, Jasmine MUST be special because she’s wearing a big diamond LUKA necklace tonight.

YOLANDA HADID: FROM MODEL MOM TO VILLAIN

Former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Yolanda Hadid is having a bad year. First she managed to cause the break-up of her daughter Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, the father of her 1 year old child. It seems Yolanda was on their Pennsylvania farm with Zayn and the baby and they had an argument. Yolanda claimed that Zayn not only insulted her but physically assaulted her. She pressed charges and Zayn pleaded “No contest” although he denied charges to the press. Zayn and Gigi haven’t been seen together since. This week Yolanda’s other daughter Bella Hadid admitted to Vogue that she had a nose job at the age of 14 that she now regrets. The internet blew up with fans jumping all over Yolanda – calling her a horrible mother for allowing a 14 year old to have plastic surgery.

COURTNEY LOVE MIGHT NEVER BE THE SAME

Is the Courtney Love we once knew, gone forever? Back in the fall of 2019, Courtney moved to London where she planned to write a book and work on a new album. Shortly after, the covid pandemic struck and she has been there ever since. Apparently she has adjusted to the British life so well that she has no plans to leave. Courtney turned up at the Cheltenham Festival on opening day with a whole new look. The festival is described as a posh horse racing occasion and attendees are expected to dress appropriately. Ladies are advised to wear “smart country fashions” in tweed or suede, and quality boots – no high heels, a stylish hat, and matching gloves. Yes, that is OUR former grunge girl in a BEIGE gabardine vest and trousers with matching kid gloves. We’re not sure if the guy is a friend or boyfriend. Stay tuned…

BILLY IDOL: NO DANCING WITH HIMSELF YET

Last December Billy Idol thought he had an ordinary sinus infection that was making him feel lousy. Despite treatment, the infection got worse and turned out to be caused by staph bacteria – the serious MRSA superbug that resists most antibiotics. One antibiotic after another failed to help and Billy had to resort to surgery. He was distraught when he was forced to cancel the tour he had planned with Journey that started in February and lasts until May. (Toto filled in for him) He’s STILL experimenting with different antibiotics and further surgery might be necessary. He’s asking fans to send him positive thoughts.

JARED LETO: DRESSED TO KILL

Part time rockstar Jared Leto really thinks about fashion – he has a new and appropriate look for each of his movie premiers. Never adverse to attention, he pulled out the leopard for for the opening of his gruesome film Morbius in Mexico City. In this dark Marvel movie, Jared plays a scientist who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease and ends up turning into a vampire with special talents. It’s a far cry from his over the top role as a bald businessman in House of Gucci.

KODI SMIT-MCPHEE CAN’T BELIEVE HIS GOOD LUCK

Our choice for every Supporting Actor award this year, Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee, (The Power of the Dog) is in London on his way to a BAFTA event. Kodi literally became a star overnight after Dog was released. He’s only 25 and he’s had the same girlfriend since 2013, Rebecca Phillipou- above. Her head must be spinning- she’s been his plus one at all the lavish award shows he’s been invited to and both are enjoying the new fashion opportunities. She has already seen him accept awards a number of times, but they must both be nervous and excited about the upcoming Oscars.

COLIN FARRELL AND Q’ORIANKA KILCHER: LONG TIME NO SEE

Colin Farrell was spotted taking a hike in Los Feliz with a long-ago leading lady Q’orianka Kilcher. Remember her? At the tender age of 14, she played Pocahontas and 28 year old Colin played John Smith in the Terrence Malick romantic drama The New World back in 2005. Their characters had a passionate romance in the film that historians don’t agree happened. They probably have more in common now than they did 17 years ago. Q’orianka has become an environmental and human rights activist (she’s also appearing in Yellowstone) and Colin gave up those notorious drinking binges and got interested in healthier activities like running.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what greed gets you. He wasn’t FAMOUS ENOUGH. He wanted more. And well, he sort of got it. Just not in the way he wanted. It’s almost like a “Twilight Zone” or “Black Mirror” episode if you really think about it.
