JIMMY BUFFETT SAID GOODBYE TO HIS FRIENDS

He’s most famous for his catchy hit, Margaritaville, which he brilliantly mastered into a lifestyle brand earning millions in the process, but Jimmy Buffett apparently also had a great sense of humor. Although he’s not someone we’ve written about, we couldn’t help but share this whimsical tidbit. According to a source, Jimmy summoned his dearest pals to his bedside so he could say goodbye. One of his longtime friends flew in from Aspen and made Jimmy promise NOT to die on his birthday, September 1. It so happens that was THE day Jimmy passed away! What’s even eerier, Jimmy died at almost the exact time of day listed on his friend’s birth certificate. The insider says this was typical Jimmy, always wanting to have the last laugh…

OPRAH IS RAKING IN THE BUCKS FOR MAUI



Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quietly made a $250,000 donation to Oprah Winfrey’s efforts to raise money for Maui. Oprah has a sprawling 2000 plus acre estate on the tropical island and her Montecito, California neighbors Harry and Meg have a standing invitation to use the property whenever they want. According to a friend, Harry and Meghan were actually planning to spend Christmas with her mom and some friends at Oprah’s Maui home. Those plans have been paused for now, while the island heals from the devastating fires. Oprah has been asking her pals to donate and in addition to the $10 million her fund STARTED with, she’s already close to DOUBLED that amount in a matter of days…

SHAME, SHAME SHAME, ON STAR MAGAZINE!

There’s honest mistakes, sloppy reporting, and then there’s STAR MAGAZINE! Longtime readers will remember me as the gossip columnist for STAR in its heyday, breaking countless scoops and having fun dishing the Hollywood gossip for years. It’s shameful to see what the once legitimate tabloid has turned into. This cover story was dated August 21 and it is total fiction – implying that Sandra Bullock’s longtime boyfriend Bryan Randall dumped her!  The true story is that heartbroken Sandra LOST her life partner Bryan Randall to ALS on AUGUST 5. STAR had the mindless audacity to put what you see above on their cover for the issue dated AUGUST 21!  Embarrassing! Even if the magazine had already gone to print, common sense would have dictated that they scrap the issue entirely, as opposed to releasing the false and insensitive cover. Sandra deserves better, as do their readers – though we doubt there are many of those left…

KELLY OSBOURNE HAS NEVER BEEN SKINNIER!

THIS is a surprise! Kelly Osbourne was photographed leaving Drake’s party this week looking THINNER than we have EVER seen her! Kelly admits she had gastric sleeve surgery a few years ago but she credits her diet and workout regime for helping her keep the 85 pounds she lost off. Still, she DID have a baby with boyfriend Sid Wilson just last November, yet she’s skinnier than ever today. And as her body got smaller her lips got bigger! Interesting because her mother Sharon is now looking equally skinny with fuller lips. We’re not going to tease these two about using Ozempic – people are probably already doing that. MATTHEW PERRY HAS AN ODD NEW JOB

While we are all for capitalism, we can’t help but wonder what’s up with Matthew Perry’s finances. The Friends star famously pocketed $1 million per episode during the show’s peak and he continues to make money with residuals (much like I Love Lucy, reruns of Friends seem to be airing 24/7 somewhere in the world.) And that’s WHY we are perplexed that’s he’s on the Cameo Business site: He will make a personal video endorsing your business or product for a $50,000 fee. While $50K isn’t chump change, it seems out of character that Matthew would sell a commercial endorsement for such a small amount UNLESS he was desperate for dineros. For perspective, his Friends costar Jennifer Aniston made millions and millions from her various endorsements for such products as Smart Water and Aveeno.

NIA VARDALOS HAS GREEK WEDDING JITTERS

Nia Vardalos is having a big fat Greek headache over her upcoming movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. The movie hits theaters on September 8 and Nia had elaborate plans to promote the movie, including contests for fans to win all expense paid trips to Greece where much of the action takes place. But thanks to the actors strike, she can’t do much of anything. She frantically debated whether to postpone the release until the strike was over, but in the end decided to hope for the best and stick with the date.

WE TOLD YA SO!

Yes, we DID!  Way back on April 5 when Donald Trump was criminally charged for the first time, we revealed that his campaign planned to cash in on his mugshot and plaster in on everything from T-shirts to mugs. Well it only took three more criminal indictments and on the fourth time around, Donald was forced to finally pose for a mugshot and guess what? His campaign is cashing in and selling merchandise with his mugshot on everything from T-shirts  and hoodies to mugs.

BEYONCE HAS SUPER CONCERT PLANNED FOR LUCKY L.A.

Beyoncé is having a star studded birthday party and YOU are invited… IF you can afford the steep ticket price! Beyoncé is turning 42 on September 4 and she’s performing in LA that day on her Renaissance World Tour.  Our source says lucky concertgoers can expect to see a fabulous bunch of surprise guests joining Queen Bey on stage as she celebrates her birthday. The final details are still being worked out, but potential performers include her husband Jay-Z, Madonna, Britney Spears, Chris Martin and even a Destiny’s Child mini reunion with Kelly Rowland! For the majority of us who won’t be there, the plan is to tape the concert and sell it to a streaming service….of course.

MEGHAN HAS POLITICAL ASPIRATIONS FOR PRINCE HARRY

Can you imagine Prince Harry as Governor of California?  WE can’t, but Meghan Markle can! Keep in mind California’s governor Gavin Newsom won’t be able to run for re-election in 2026 due to term limits. So the job will be up for grabs. Aspiring Meghan feels Harry has what it takes to make it in US politics. Although he could never become president (because he wasn’t born here) there’s nothing stopping him from running for other offices – once he officially becomes a US CITIZEN as opposed to a permanent resident. According to our source, Harry has already started the process to obtain DUAL citizenship. He’ll keep his UK passport, but also hold an American one. After he achieves THAT goal, Meghan intends to encourage his run for SOME SORT of political office…

“AND JUST LIKE THAT” CHARACTERS MIGHT BECOME DOLLS!

Will women and gay men play with dolls? That’s the question And Just Like That producers are trying to answer now. According to a series insider (remember we were the FIRST to reveal Kim Cattrall was making a surprise appearance!) producers have developed a series of collectible dolls complete with designer wardrobes that they are test marketing in focus groups. The show’s demographics are mainly middle-aged women and gay men, (just like this website!) so producers are trying to decipher whether there’s a market for these dolls, which will retail for a few hundred dollars each. So far the feedback has been positive, so Sarah Jessica Parker and her pals could be coming to a store near you.
