What woman alive at the time, doesn’t fondly remember seeing and loving Thelma & Louise, about two women who escaped their male-dominated lives. Especially gratifying was the scene where Thelma blew away the would–be rapist in the roadhouse parking lot. It was a great movie about women, written BY a woman, Callie Khouri. Certainly that cross country spree in a 1966 Thunderbird convertible inspired many road trips to follow. The 1991 film just celebrated its 20 year anniversary with a screening in Toronto and stars Susan Sarandon, 64, and Geena Davis, 55, both showed up for the celebration.
Geena Davis Susan Sarandon Thelma & Louise
I N’joyed listening to them sing “The way you do the things you do.” I believe that Thelma and Louise was the breakout movie for Brad Pitt. 20 years and these two stars have gone on to both “earn Oscars” and continue to look like the stars that they both are!!
Good subtle plastic surgery! Age appropriate and of course the movie is a CLASSIC as it’s leading actors.
Can you ever look at the Grand Canyon the same way again?
They look fabulous! Great movie.
Classic movie that will continue to stand up to the test of time. Still get as much enjoyment out of this movie today as I did the first time I watched it. Thelma & Louise KICK ASS!!
This movie cemented Brad Pitt as one of the sexiest men alive!!
I have read that Geena is extremely nice and friendly to fans and will sign autographs. Susan Sarandon, according to gossip mags,is now just a collector of boytoys and is a rabid liberal. The movie was quite different and entertaining and disturbing.I suppose it’s now a classic.
Cassa Nova: Well, I guess I feel the same way you do about these two.
Still an AMAZING movie after all these years; hard to go wrong with Ridley Scott—and two very talented actresses at the top of their game.
A favorite of mine—of one of Scott’s lesser known films—is “A Good Year”—with Russell Crowe.
GREAT flick!!! 🙂 So much more than the average, or rather subpar, chick flick.
Chicagoland, I loved A Good Year!! Russell Crowe was awesome in that movie as well as Albert Finney and Marion Cotillard. One of my all time favorites. A nice relaxing movie with beautiful scenery, and plenty of laughs.
I just finished reading the novel for the first time, very charming as well.
Hey Leo, I liked that song too. I always think of that song by Glenn Frey “Part Of You, Part Of Me”. Always loved his voice in the Eagles too.
all I remember about that movie is seeing Brad Pitt on the screen and thinking….WHO THE HELL IS THAT!!! OMG!! yumm
Yes, the very young Pitt made his name in this flick I believe. The women were incredible in it and have been ever since for me. I don’t believe either of them have had plastic done. They looks very much their age and well taken care of and beautiful. I have always thought Geena Davis one of the most beautiful women out there, just splendid!
psssssssst: THEY STILL HAVE IT.
Thelma (after robbing a gas station): I don’t know Louise, I just seem to have a knack for this shit.
Louise: Well, I believe you do. 🙂
That scene—and that line—never fails to crack me up. 20 years, really? Oh my.
@ Walt Cliff:
“”I can’t tell you why””, but I also love the music of the Eagles, and don’t mention Steely Dan’s “Do It Again”,Peg,please don’t get me started on BTO’s “Let it Ride” and oh so many of those hits of yesterday. Even Payless Shoe Source is kicking it with “keep it coming love” by K.C. and The Sunshine Band. After reading your reply, I checked out the song “part of me,part of you” that you had mentioned, which made me want to listen to “You belong to the city”, and got taken back to “The Miami Vice” days.
Long live the days when a song was “truly a song” and music was music!!
You should make another movie together and do another one of Thelma and Louise for the Hell of it and what have you got to lose?
The Movie was okay but did not blow me away and since both this woman? Still look amazing…Why don’t they do part 2…Just throwing something out there to think about it?
