GWEN STEFANI FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ROLLING STONES

Now THAT’S a show we wish we’d seen! The opening night of the Rolling Stones tour at Staples Center in LA featured a few celebrity surprises, including Gwen Stefani. The crowd was stunned when she suddenly burst onstage and started singing “Wild Horses” with Mick Jagger. Gwen dressed for the occasion and reportedly looked starstruck by her famous company – her husband and her band looked delighted from their seats and took pictures to share with fans later.

JOHNNY DEPP AND AMBER HEARD COULDN’T RESIST THE ROLLING STONES

The Rolling Stones were the talk of LA before Saturday when they had a secret concert scheduled at the Echoplex club in Echo Park, which holds only 700 people. First come-first served tickets were sold at the El Rey theater during the same day for $20 apiece with strings attached. Everyone in line with an I.D. could only buy ONE ticket and they were photographed and given a wrist band for entry. No cameras or cellphones allowed. Needless to say the line was humongous. The concert was amazing, but the BIG news was the fact that Johnny Depp, 49, and his Rum Diary costar Amber Heard, 27, were there holding hands right out in the open. Looks like a serious romance since they’ve been discreetly fooling around a couple of years now….

BILL WYMAN: TIME ISN’T ON HIS SIDE

Maybe Bill Wyman shouldn’t have left The Rolling Stones back in ’93 because he just hasn’t aged as gracefully as the rest of the Stones. Remember, Wyman was considered a womanizer back in his heyday and is said to have slept with over 1000 women. The band carried on without him, but they still look like aging rock stars and he’s lost his style…

THE ROLLING STONES ARE REVISITING “MAIN STREET”

Mick Jagger and his girlfriend L’Wren are in a party mood as they leave the MOMA screening of the documentary “Stones in Exile” in New York. The film contains footage from 1972 when the Stones were recording their brilliant “Exile on Main Street” album. The album is being re-released (in vinyl form too!) with ten unearthed songs from that period.

ROCK STARS AT THE BEATLES’ “YELLOW SUBMARINE” PREMIER IN 1968

An astute reader and fan of Anita Pallenberg commented on our item about her and led us to a site devoted to the Rolling Stones muse. We were particularly fascinated by this old photo of the audience at the London premier of The Beatles’ 1968 movie “Yellow Submarine.” Anita and Keith are in the second row. How many celebrities of yesteryear can you spot in the crowd?
