NICK CANNON: IT’S NOT CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN

Nick Cannon had his hands full when he took several of his children and assorted family members to Nobu in Malibu for a fancy dinner. Nick’s family outings are usually quite large because he has 12 children and pays child support to six different women, AND he wants all the kids to be friends. Apparently the children were not impressed with the expensive sushi restaurant and just didn’t like the food. When they all left, the kids were taken directly across the street to McDonald’s where they got what they wanted…

ROBERT DE NIRO IS GETTING INTO THE FOOD BUSINESS

Robert De Niro wants to follow in the footsteps of another Oscar winner, Paul Newman, and branch out from movies to meatballs! With 5 hotels and nearly 50 restaurants in his empire – including numerous locations of Nobu, plus the famed Tribeca Grill, Robert has proven himself in the culinary world. Now he wants to expand his empire to grocery shelves. Robert and his partners are developing a line of products based on their successful restaurants. Imagine soy sauce from Nobu, pasta sauce from his now defunct Ago in Los Angeles, and the spaetzle from Tribeca Grill, available in your local supermarket! We wonder if De Niro’s photo will be on every package…

THE LAST TIME YOU SAW PARIS

Paris Jackson and her musician boyfriend Michael Snoddy hobnobbed with Hollywood celebrities on July 4 at the Nobu all-white party in Malibu. This is quite a step up – they usually hang out at funky clubs with Snoddy’s young music buddies. Snoop Dogg, the Kardashians and Jenners were among the illustrious party people. Paris fired up a smoke in the parking lot.

SOMEBODY PLEASE FIND GEORGE CLOONEY’S CAR!

Mustachioed George Clooney must have done some serious celebrating at Nobu in London because he was very unsteady when he walked out and complained that he couldn’t find his car. (Maybe he should have removed his sunglasses.) Funny how a mustache can age a man. Clooney is currently filming “The Monument Men” in which he plays an art historian. George eventually connected with his car and no, he wasn’t driving.

Robert DeNiro is keeping busy in Las Vegas where he’s filming the movie we told you about called “Las Vegas,” which is described as the “geriatric version of The Hangover.” DeNiro stars with Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas and Kevin Kline. Besides catching the Beatles “Love” show at The Mirage with Douglas, he’s keeping an eye on construction of the new Nobu Hotel of which he is a shareholder. The Japanese inspired boutique hotel consists of 181 rooms and suites within Caesars Palace, anchored by a posh Nobu restaurant. Everything has a Japanese edge – from the décor, to the exotic drinks in the minibar, to the bento boxes for breakfast. DeNiro says they are aiming for a customers who like Japanese food.

IS IT VAL KILMER OR PAUL BUNYAN?

valkilmercut.jpgVal Kilmer seems to be getting more eccentric than Keanu Reeves. He showed up at Nobu alone, wearing a plaid shirt, work boots, and a scruffy beard. “He looked like a lumberjack” remarked an eyewitness. He dumped his big sloppy black bag on the chair next to him and greeted the waiters exhuberantly. The hefty actor ate lightly – sushi and a drink – and very quietly. He seemed puzzled with his bill and called the waiter over for a conference. The waiter sat down and helped Val calculate his tip. Suddenly Val got up and abruptly ran out the door. The startled waiter just looked at the door and shrugged “OK, see ya next time!” The whole restaurant could hear the racing sounds of Val’s muffler as he exited the parking lot .
