MEGHAN AND HARRY: THE HIGH PRICE OF FAME

In their big interview with Oprah, we were surprised when Prince Harry and Meghan talked about how upsetting it was that the Royals had cut off their security, and now they had to pay for their own. In fact, Harry added that they had never thought about making deals with Netflix and Spotify until they realized how much they would have to pay for their own security. Chris Gardner at The Hollywood Reporter researched exactly what the cost might be for the runaway royals, and we were SHOCKED. It could easily be 10 million dollars a year, depending on their lifestyle! That’s what Facebook pays to protect Mark Zuckerberg and his family – of course they probably get a lot more threats. But Oprah’s interview stirred up plenty of divisive opinions about Harry and Meghan, so they probably DO need expensive protection.

Half-sister Meghan Markle Money Samantha Markle

A PLEA TO MEDIA: PLEASE STOP PAYING SAMANTHA MARKLE FOR INTERVIEWS!

Many people have that one crackpot in the family that everyone tries to avoid. When Meghan Markle got engaged to Prince Harry, she realized that person in HER family was her 17 years older half-sister Samantha. (Born Yvonne Markle, Samantha divorced twice and changed her name to Samantha Grant UNTIL Meghan and Harry hooked up, then she hastily changed back to Markle) Coincidentally or not, Samantha is estranged from her own 3 children, her mother (who calls her “an embarrassment”) her brother, and, of course, Meghan. Samantha is also banned on Twitter for “bullying.” When asked about making money off her half-sister, Samantha haughtily replied “I’ve worked in media all my life – why stop now just because my sister is a Royal?” Despite minimal contact through the years, Samantha has declared herself an expert on Meghan and has already written a tell-all book. She seems determined to demolish this Royal marriage. You have to admire Meghan for controlling her feelings about this opportunistic half-sister. If only the press would STOP PAYING this appalling woman …

VICTORIA BECKHAM IS HAVING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS TOO!

It’s almost consoling to hear that even Victoria Beckham is having financial setbacks. Her fashion business racked up record losses last year of almost 15 million dollars. In fact, during the past four years, her company suffered 52 million in losses! Last year, a “mystery shareholder” believed to be her husband David, invested almost 20 million dollars in the shaky business. Victoria just got a loan from an investment company of almost eight million dollars to keep the business functioning. She’s HOPING she won’t have to give up controlling interest in her namesake company.

Blake Lively Bribe Fashion Met Gala Money

HOW MUCH FASHION PAYOLA ARE ACTRESSES GETTING TO WEAR GOWNS AT THE MET GALA?

The Met Gala is turning out to be a bigger fashion event that the Cannes Film Festival. We can’t even IMAGINE how much money is changing hands as major fashion houses, jewelry designers etc. BRIBE celebrities to wear their creations! Blake Lively is in big demand because she’s model height (5’10”) and makes the clothes look spectacular. Her Gala gown was gorgeous but obscenely expensive (it took over 600 hours to make!) Recently designers have ALSO been dressing celebrities for the after-parties! (Blake, above in her pricey after-party outfit) No WONDER so many celebrities wouldn’t think of missing the Met Gala – they’d be missing a huge pay check!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER CAN’T SPEND HIS MONEY FAST ENOUGH

The flashy boxing champ was seen arriving at The Staples Center for a Lakers game with one of his fleet of jumbo bodyguards. His biggest guard is 7’1” and over 400 pounds – not sure if this is that one. Floyd is 5’8” and 150 pounds. Floyd needs his security guards because he often carries around a million dollars IN CASH. After all, he’s the highest paid athlete in the world and worth 340 million. He loves to shop and buys so many shoes he often wears them only once and leaves them for hotel staffers. When he flies in his private jet, his security guys fly in a separate private jet so they won’t take up too much space.

MARK WAHLBERG: EARNING MORE THAN HE’S WORTH?

Mark Wahlberg, 46, should be one of the happiest guys in Hollywood – not only is he married to a former Victoria’s Secret model, and they have four healthy kids, but, according to Forbes, he was the “Highest Paid Actor in Hollywood” last year – earning 68 million dollars! The only downside is that he was also named the “Most Overpaid Actor in Hollywood” because his movies weren’t all that profitable. (The list of overpaid actors is long but there are very few overpaid actresses – because they are paid LESS.) Anyway, Mark and his family are frolicking in the ocean in Barbados and he still has that pained look on his face…

Generous! Good Behavior Money Salary The Big Bang Theory

BIG BANG THEORY CAST MEMBERS ACTUALLY LIKE EACH OTHER!

We are SO impressed with The Big Bang Theory cast taking a pay cut so the two most recently added members can get a raise! This NEVER happens in Hollywood. Agents generally step in to make impossible demands and turn everyone against each other. Of course this series is a gold mine – it’s made a billion dollars world-wide, but that doesn’t stop leading characters from wanting MORE. Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg each agreed to cut their pay $100,000 a week so Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch can get a raise of $250,000 each. No surprise that this is a super-nice cast – last year Josh Brener, who was on the show for 3 years, found our runaway Bedlington Terrier trotting down the street and went out of his way to call and deliver Elvis back to our house. He said “I‘d like to have kept him but I already have too many dogs!”

James Packer Mariah Carey Money Scientology Split Tommy Davis

JAMES PACKER: DID SCIENTOLOGY FINALLY DO SOMETHING RIGHT?

The answer to the above question is no. From the outside looking in, it appears that high-ranking Scientologist Tommy Davis DID do billionaire James Packer a favor by influencing him to dump his spendthrift fiancée Mariah Carey. Back in the early 2000s, Packer’s life was a disaster and Tom Cruise stepped in to help. (Tommy Davis was Cruise’s Scientology “handler” at the time.) They helped solve Packer’s problems (we’d LOVE to know HOW!) and pulled the billionaire into Scientology where he lasted for five years. Packer drifted from Scientology, but he was so impressed with Tommy Davis that he gave him a vague job “managing his investments” in the USA. Not long ago Davis pointed out to Packer that his fiancée Mariah was spending absurd amounts of his money. Packer ended the engagement and Mariah is blaming Tommy Davis for the split. Did Tommy do Packer A FAVOR when he disengaged the couple? Probably yes. BUT, and this is a BIG but, now Packer is ripe to be drawn back into Scientology, so that’s the horrible downside.

HAILEY BALDWIN AND HER DAD STEPHEN STILL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

Stephen Baldwin must be flabbergasted by his 19 year old daughter Hailey Baldwin’s success as a model. Her life is so different from his these days. Hailey is hanging with a fast moving success oriented fashion crowd – very glamorous. Her dad is quite conservative politically (a huge Trump supporter) and happens to be an evangelical Christian who thinks gays should have their own church. While Hailey’s raking in the bucks, Stephen is in financial turmoil- he owes back taxes and his New York home is threatened with foreclosure. They exist in two different worlds, but it’s nice to see dad and daughter enjoy lunch together in a Paris café.

LIFE GOES ON FOR DENISE RICHARDS AND HER GIRLS

Denise Richards, 45, took her gaggle of little girls out for ice dream in Malibu. How awkward it must be for her two daughters with Charlie Sheen. Charlie is always badmouthing Denise, calling her a gold digger. But that doesn’t stop Denise from taking him to court regularly for more child support – she’s been getting $55,000 per month. Now that Charlie’s living with HIV he wants to cut back on the amount. We can’t help but feel sorry for the girls who are certainly embarrassed by their father’s appalling behavior and eventually will question their mother’s common sense.
