JIM PARSONS MIGHT SURPRISE YOU IN “HOLLYWOOD”

Here’s something to look forward to: Ryan Murphy’s series about the golden age of Hollywood (called Hollywood) debuts on Netflix May 1, and it looks like FUN. The series features celebrity characters of the era intermixing with fictional characters. The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons has the juicy role of Henry Willson– he was the gay talent agent responsible for all those he-man hunks in the fifties. Henry discovered and renamed his stable of handsome guys including Rock Hudson, Tab Hunter, Rory Calhoun, Troy Donahue, Guy Madison, etc. Some, but not all, the actors were also gay. Henry ended up selling stories to Confidential magazine about some of his clients in order to suppress a gay story about his biggest client Rock Hudson.

HAS JOE PESCI GONE HOLLYWOOD?

Sporting a cream colored cashmere double breasted topcoat and SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT, it appears that The Irishman gangster Joe Pesci has “gone Hollywood”- and indeed, he has. For the past 30 years, Joe has lived at the Jersey Shore in an 8 bedroom 8 bathroom mansion. A few weeks ago, Joe put his home on the market for 6.5 million and he admits he has finally decided to move the sunny Los Angeles where he can play golf year around.

THANK YOU TO WHOEVER STOLE THAT MARILYN MONROE STATUE!

Since it appeared in 1994, we have been appalled by this monstrosity that apparently passes for “public art.” The gaudy metallic gazebo is located at the important intersection of Hollywood Blvd and La Brea, intended as some kind of “gateway” to Hollywood. We always assumed there was some sort of political corruption between whoever paid for it and the artist. The embarrassing “art” depicts five statues of actresses in a highly sexualized and disrespectful manner. Whoever vandalized this nightmare should be rewarded, and hopefully the Hollywood chamber of commerce will re-think this situation and install a more appropriate piece of art.

GEORGE CLOONEY TO DONALD TRUMP: I DON’T HAVE A STAR ON HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD!

Suburbicon director George Clooney has observed that Donald Trump seems to enjoy fueling the wars between what he calls “coastal elites who live in a bubble ” and middle America. George doesn’t LIKE being called a “Hollywood elite.” He responded “Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, but Donald Trump DOES have a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Who lives in a bigger bubble?”

SOFIA VERGARA: HOW HAPPY CAN YOU GET?

Has anyone EVER looked more delighted to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Sofia Vergara can’t contain her joy. Her Modern Family costars were there for the ceremony – as well as her own family, including fiancée Joe Manganiello. Mercifully absent was her vindictive former fiancée Nick Loeb who might have ruined the event if he’d shown up waving a test tube.

It’s always nice to see someone who really DESERVES it, get a star on the Walk of Fame. Austrian actor Christoph Waltz was “discovered” by Quentin Tarantino (above left) and received an Oscar for his memorable role in “Inglourious Basterds.” His “Django Unchained” costar Samuel L. Jackson (above right) also showed his support at the ceremony. You can next see Christoph in “Big Eyes” which is coming out at Christmas.

THANKS TO DAVE NAVARRO- YOU CAN LIVE LIKE A ROCKSTAR FOR LESS THAN A MILLION DOLLARS

0x600navarro

Looks like Dave is a better guitar player than he is a real estate investor. He recently put his 1570 sq ft heavily decorated Hollywood and Vine loft on sale for $899,000. Perhaps the best feature is the view of the Capitol Records building. The doorman building was a converted department store built in the 1920’s. Dave had the large space custom built and decorated to his taste. Furniture, including his white patent leather upholstered bed is available for purchase. He bought the bare bones place back in 2007 for 1.4 million so it’s quite a bargain. Keep in mind it’s walking distance to hot clubs and restaurants on Hollywood Boulevard.

MARISKA HARGITAY GOT A WALK OF FAME STAR RIGHT NEXT TO HER MOM’S

She seems like one of the nicest celebrities In Hollywood and Mariska Hargitay, 49, is always supportive of women’s causes. The whole cast of her show “Law & Order: SVU” showed up when she got her well-deserved star on the Hollywood Boulevard. Also present – her family, husband Peter Hermann and their three children August, Amaya, and Andrew. Especially sweet was the fact that her star was right next to her mother Jayne Mansfield’s star.
