ATTENTION TOM CRUISE: SCIENTOLOGY IS IN BIG TROUBLE

It looks like progress is finally being made toward Scientology losing its tax-exempt status – it’s being TALKED ABOUT! Alex Gibney, the documentary filmmaker responsible for HBO’s “Going Clear,” wrote an excellent editorial in the LA Times today titled “Scientology Should Not Be Tax-Exempt.” And boy, do we agree! He reasons that Scientology should not have their tax status revoked because it is not a “real religion.” It has a strange belief system – but so do other religions (virgin birth?) Gibney points out that to maintain the right to be tax exempt, religions must fulfill certain requirements for charitable organizations. They may not serve the private interests of any individual and activities must not be illegal or violate fundamental public policy. On these points alone, he says, Americans should not subsidize Scientology through tax exemption. Clearly, he has made a logical argument and we predict the downfall of Scientology is imminent. Footnote: Since DONATIONS to Scientology are tax exempt, we predict all kind of problems for celebrity members if tax status changes.

TIME FOR THE IRS TO GET A GRIP ON SCIENTOLOGY

HBO slammed a home run with their Scientology documentary “Going Clear” that debuted Sunday, and we applaud them for it. Everyone MUST see it! Having successful, well known former members lament that they can’t believe they were ever stupid enough to have been involved, was VERY effective. Best of all, HBO exposed the IRS disgrace: decades ago, Scientology harassed the IRS into declaring their organization a tax-free church. They went on to buy up block after block of valuable Hollywood property tax-free. Time for the IRS to RE-EVALUATE the taxation of all so-called “churches.” And Leah Remini wasn’t afraid to applaud the documentary.

SCIENTOLOGY: YET ANOTHER EMBARRASSING BOOK

Another blow for Scientology- and we couldn’t be happier. Pulitzer prize winning author Lawrence Wright has a new book called “Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief.” It’s a very detailed well-documented expose that verifies many things we’ve always suspected. A few tidbits: Scientology leader David Miscavige viewed Tom Cruise’s exwife Nicole Kidman as “a goldigger who faked Scientology.” She nearly succeeded in pulling Tom away from the cult but eventually they tightened their grip and got rid of her. The fact that Tom is in awe of David Miscavige is apparent by the fact that he modeled his naval officer in “A Few Good Men” after Miscavige’s commanding personality. We can’t wait to read about the cult’s massive real estate holdings in Los Angeles. There’s a lot of juicy stuff in this book,so if you need another reason to dislike Scientology, read it.
