Dustin Hoffman took his daughter shopping at A.P.C. in Soho. He must be the shortest one in his family. We’re sure he MEANT well, but Dustin was one of the Hollywood stars who signed an open letter in 1997 to then German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, PROTESTING the treatment of Scientologists in Germany. Fortunately, Chancellor Kohl ignored the Hollywood letter and Germany has gone farther than any other Western European country to RESTRICT the rights of Scientologists. Germans regard Scientology not as a religion but as a profit making enterprise and a cult. In fact, several prominent Germans have compared Tom Cruise to Goebbels the Nazi propaganda minister. We wonder if Dustin still supports Scientology.

Maybe Not

In 2004 the Meet The Fockers premier party at Universal Citiwalk was more than Barbra Streisand could tolerate. Babs, who plays Roz Focker in the movie, pulled up in her stretch limo to the private celebrity entrance on the side of the tent and “just sat there with the motor running.” according to an observer. “She couldn’t make up her mind.” Barbra popped out of the limo several times to peek into the crowded party, and got back in the car to debate going in. After twenty minutes of going back and forth, the tormented Barbra decided NOT to venture inside and drove off. Meanwhile, Dustin Hoffman, who plays her movie husband Bernie Focker, arrived early, stayed late, and mingled amiably with the crowd of 2500 people. Good thing they’re not married in real life.

He’s suddenly one of the cutest off-beat actors in Hollywood. Jake happens to be the offspring of Dustin Hoffman who also played a kid named Ben in his first major role in The Graduate. Jake is pictured here with his costar Jana Kramer.
