Evan Ross, 26, says that he knew Ashlee Simpson, 29, was THE ONE four months after they met. He proposed in January and they tied the knot this weekend at Evan’s mother Diana Ross’s estate in Greenwich, Connecticut. Which is a little odd, because most of their friends are on the West Coast. But Ashlee’s sister Jessica was maid of honor and her kids were in the wedding too. Can you imagine having Diana Ross for a mother-in-law?

Two people who are famous because they’re related to successful celebrities are getting married. And it looks like a good match. Ashlee Simpson, 29, lives in the shadow of her absurdly successful sister Jessica Simpson, whose business ventures earn billions. Aspiring actor Evan Ross, 25, is the son of Diana Ross and took HER last name to help him in Hollywood. Ashlee had plastic surgery to look more like her sister. So Ashlee and Evan already have something in common. They just got engaged and announced it on Twitter with the photo above. Ashlee was previously married to Pete Wentz and they have a son, this is Evan’s first marriage. Joe Simpson is probably already thinking about the pre-nup.

Friends and acquaintances of Joe Simpson have been calling TMZ – we’re guessing because he asked them to – to deny that he’s gay and has a string of young boyfriends.     We’re thinking all this is Joe Simpson’s idea, but Jessica Simpson is definitely doing her sister Ashlee a BIG favor. Jessica’s clothing and accessory franchises are incredibly successful – earning her fifty million dollars a year. Ashlee’s singing and acting careers are in the dumpster, she and husband Pete Wentz are separated, and she can’t catch a break. So Jessica is attempting to share the wealth by asking her younger sister to create a line of fashions for tweens. Whether the public will have the same enthusiasm for Ashlee’s name remains to be seen. But it IS a nice thing for Jessica to do.
