Hawaiian born Bruno Mars is a knockout in this layout from L’Uomo Vogue. Those Italians know how to photograph men. Songwriter/singer Mars, 25, says he was inspired by Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and The Temptations. In fact, he did such a good impersonation of Elvis when he was a kid that he appeared in the movie Honeymoon in Vegas in 1992 with Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker. He’s still got some Elvis hair.
Not Elvis, maybe Sammy Davis Jr. or Sam Cooke.
Those photos (especially the one on the right) looks like a singer from the late 1950’s/early 1960’s. The Presley/Jackson inspiration is apparent in both his music and his appearance. I actually like some of his music (Just the Way You Are is one of my favorites).
I was reading where Bruno (real name is Peter Gene Hernandez.) is Filipino & Puerto Rican and raised in Honolulu. The kid has a great sound. I think he will be around for a long time.
Note the white powder around his nostrils…
@Pippa, White Powder?
You are seeing something I just don’t see. Maybe you are seeing a big ole booger???
Hawaiians are known to be, well…small. Not something us Vassar gals would be interested in.
Ms. Wentworth: Maiden name, “Galore?” 😉
I like Pussy.
he was told by his parent just nam Michael Jackson & Elvis because they were big.
………..BUT THIS LUNATIC WASN’T EVEN BORN YET AT THE TIME OF ” Thriller”!!
On the left, more like Frankie Avalon.
He looks like the love child of Elvis and Josephine Baker.
Walt, pippa is referring to Bruno having been arrested in a Vegas bathroom with cocaine.
I saw him on the Graham Norton show and he was quite charming. “Bruno” is a nickname his father gave him after the wrestler Bruno Samartino. Apparently when he was a little boy he had a stocky build and reminded his Dad of the wrestler.
@Pippa, My apologies to you. Your comment went completely over my feable head.

@Denise, Thank you very much for clarifying that for me. It is much appreciated. 🙂 Hope the kid stays away from the powder. He’s got a great future ahead of him.
This Guy looks classic and Well dress and has class and style and has rawness about him and looks dreamy and sexy to some degree and He has the look of a movie star and I Bet if you get him into acting his career can go another direction and Yes he is still young and has time on his side but it depends on which direction he want to take?
I have often wondered if Bruno Mars was the kid I saw doing an Elvis impersonation during “Death week” at Graceland several years ago. He looks SO MUCH like him. I often took out of town visitors to Graceland when they wanted to visit, and during that week, There were so many events, including “Lil E ” giving that concert. He had the same coloring, hair, etc. He looked so cute in his white polyester jumpsuit. He must have been between 8 years old to 11 or 12. The first time I saw a photo of Bruno Mars, I thought, “There’s that Elvis kid!”
“Death week” at Graceland?
He is talented, but if he can’t say no to blow, he’ll be another sad case! Stay tuned. 😉
Again, I don’t find him too attractive. And he’s NOT “Hawaiian” just by being raised there and according to Walt who checked the facts out, he’s Filipino & Puerto Rican.
Pic #1 on the left he doesn’t look so hot…kinda reminds me of a mutant monster from a 50’s radiation movie poster.
