AIN’T THAT A SHAME: PAT BOONE IS AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE

#patboone #chicfila #janetcharlton

Singer Pat Boone was the second biggest charting artist in the late fifties – behind only Elvis Presley. He specialized in cover songs of black R&B artists like Fats Domino and Little Richard. During segregation his versions of “Ain’t That A Shame” and “Long Tall Sally” were huge sellers. Eventually he became religious and sang gospel music and went on to more success on TV and movies. The 78 year old performer bought some Chic-fil-A carry out in Hollywood in apparent support of the CEO’s unpopular stand against gay marriage, while gays protested outside.

  1. It took me two weeks to figure out Chick fil A was not a signing group, but a fast food joint. Bet the food sucks.

  2. Lay off Janet! Let the old f@g do what he wants. We all love chicken don’t we?

  3. Look I am in support of the cause like many people. But I am defenetly against comments like yours. Who do you think you are to determine what is right or wrong? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and should not have to be bullied by a gossip columnist for that. The witch hunt is not ok under any circumstance.

  4. In this day & age, does it really matter anymore? No singer, bible thumpers, holy rollers or fast food grease pit is going to change people are or their choices in life.

  5. Give me a break with all this CFA bullsh$t. Are we going to start asking every business we patronize their stance on gay marriage? Are Boston and Chicago putting it on business license applications? This country is heading straight down the toilet on the liberal gay agenda. Constitutional rights belong to all, even those who choose to express their biblical views. Talk about hypocrisy. Get a life, get a job!!

  6. Whenever I hear his name, I immediately think of him as the original “dick in a box” (sorry Justin)… lol

  7. I’m waiting for “Pippa” to weigh in on when Pat Boone was last relevant.

Bluejay, the food is actually pretty good if you like fried “chikun” sandwiches with pickles.

I won’t picket Chick fil A because of its President’s stand on gay marriage but for the caloric content of its food. Unless of course they’re discriminating against their employees.

I wish the Mayor of Boston (Menino)would stop sticking his foot in his mouth about things like this. It’s hard enough to understand what he’s saying.

  8. The Media bullies Militant Gays and Corrupt Politicians looking for gay money don’t have the right to threaten the free speech or the religious beliefs of anybody or their corporations.
Ben & Jerry’s, Amazon, Starbucks and Target all support left wing orgs. and fair minded people have the right to decide whether or not to support them.
It’s about freedom of expression and religion …..NOT HATE.

  9. Besides why is the Corrupt Media so obsessed with anything gay and abortions….Oh yeah, right to distract us from the fact that The Country and the Economy is being destroyed from within.

  10. Here are my thoughts. The Bible does speak against homosexuality in the Book of Romans. With that said, I personally believe that the Lord does NOT want US to judge anyone. That’s HIS job. He wants us to love and treat each other with kindness and respect. I believe that we should treat gays exactly as we would treat anyone else. Gayness isn’t contagious, after all! When Judgment Day comes everyone will be dealt with for their actions on Earth. Jesus Christ wants us to accept Him and do the things that the Bible instructs us to do. Simple, really. Not easy, but very simple.

  11. Truth is Obama flip flopped (EVOLVED) just to get “Hollywood Money” cause most former supporters have soured on his disastrous policies.

  12. If you want to see an actual smart and entertaining stance on Chick Fil A, go to youtube and look for Antoine Dodson (yep, the Hide yo kids, hide yo wife guy) and watch his 2 videos on Chick Fil A. He is hysterical and believe it or not, has a good head on his shoulders. Bottom line, one person’s (the President) opinion should not make your decision if you will eat there or not.

  13. Leave Pat Boone alone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

  14. I agree with Nina 100%. The Bible (in Romans) never said gays were hated, so this is not hate speech. Christ is the judge and on Judgment Day, many will be very surprised. BTW, there are tons and tons of gay pride parades, but you never see heterosexual parades. And if there were hetero parades, you wouldn’t see them walking down the streets scantily dressed and groping each other.

PS: I went to chick-fil-A and the chicken was spongy. Course I only went one time. lol

  15. Another PS:

Go to YouTube and enter gay pride parade San Francisco. (or any other large city). There are lots of parades, lots and lots.

  16. We all can decide what’s right for us. I’m also against gay marriage. They should be able to have a ceremony — with rights —- but it’s still a man and a woman.

  17. I’m sure every business has people with opinions, for and against every subject in the world. In N Out has bible quotes on the cups; Carl Jr.’s has something “controversial”, can’t remember what. Plenty of people have no problems with gay people but don’t believe they should be married since traditionally that is between one man and one woman.

  18. Gays represent less than 0.5 % of the Population. Lets give it a rest.

  19. It’s impossible for two men to procreate unless through adoption and 2 lesbians cannot procreate unless the use of male sperm through medical technology. Man and woman are ther only ones that can procreate naturally, so that leaves marriage to only a man and woman, according to God. Pat Boone is entitled to his opinion, just like the rest of us.

  20. Why all the hate for someone who believes in something? I don’t care if you agree with him or not – it’s his opinion and he’s damned well allowed to express it.

I swear the left can be hateful and small-minded.

  21. Free country and good food.. the press and public should bother and cult-like encourage you bully people for their beliefs only speak up if they break the law..

  22. I love the gays and I love chick fil a, I went to chick fil a that day because above everything is freedom of speech l. Gays can voice their opinions and so can anyone else. That is all.

The food is good which is why it is very successful and the owner is a devout christian who, unlike Obama, built his company from nothing. He is closed on Sundays and can have his own ideas about gays.

Gays are a burden on our medical system because of AIDS. Their choices.

  24. Pat can eat what he wants. But if you look at old pics and clips from his heyday, he was the biggest Queen in the Biz! Maybe the Lady doth protest too much…

  25. For pete’s sake, who cares what the 92 year owner of this fried chicken company thinks. Or Pat Boone or anyone else for that matter. People should do what they want to do as long as it doesn’t hurt others. I don’t believe in the tooth fairy coming to judge anyone.

  26. you scratch the skin of a professional Christian, like olde Pat, Anita or Fallwell, you’ll find a Nazi luring.

I cant wait for the old whore to stroke out.

  27. Chris hit it right on the nose. Also traditional marriage is millions of yeArs old and Christians would not mind if gays get equal benefits they just want it called something else and do not want traditional marriage redefined. No more than wanting the name “Noted States of America” renamed. I support equal rights for gays but not if it means redefining the word marriage or the traditional nuclear family. If they would call it something else (as they should because it is the exception not the norm) I would totally support their union. Frankly if I were gay I would want a different title. I’m sick of everything being watered down – boys wanting to join Girl Scouts, heck let’s put Golden Retrieves in the same AKC category at a Poodle show. It’s the same thing.

As far as Chick Filet… I that guy has every right to his Christian beliefs. What amazes me is how they zoom in on that guy. He’s Christian traditional. Hello… And if they’re so “offended” why aren’t they protesting Muslim businesses – after all they contribute to Muslim causes and in this countries being gay gets you stoned or murdered. But Christians are fair game for attacks now days. And it is ridiculous how the word “hate” is thrown around now a days the moment someone disagrees. I dont “hate” ANYone but I do support traditional values.

  28. This – those. The phone switches out words. Anyway my gist is yes to equal rights and benefits, yes to civil unions. No to using the word marriage as it refefines traditional family. A modern family IS a reality but we also need a new definition for modern marriage. Leave traditional marriage OUT of it. Marriage is mainly thought of as a religious ceremony. I rest my case.

  29. MSNBC…you make way too much sense to call yourself MSNBC, unless of course you are being sarcastic.

  30. Just chiming in here to say that the real E would never spout any of the crap drooled on the page by the fake E.

Those of you who have been here as long as I have know that, but just to differentiate for others, that is the reason for the E contradictions is that I, too, now have someone imitating me. Oh, how honored I must be;-)

  31. Then the little impostter must have returned again……poor little call center imposter gets its little jollies from copying others!

  32. Why would anyone, ever, want to “copy” you Strom ?

You are confusing mocking with copying.

We’ve long suspected you were delusional, and frankly, this just proves it.

  33. I thought of this quote when I read what some of our more “uncomplicated” Christian thinkers had to say, and I can’t think of a better example of a christian media whore than perma-tanned Pat ….

” Mark Twain was satirical of piety and organized religion in his writing, but he saved his sharpest criticism of religion for his autobiography, which by his own instructions was not published until 2010, a hundred years after his death. “There is one notable thing about our Christianity: bad, bloody, merciless, money-grabbing, and predatory,” he wrote. “The fleets of the world could swim in spacious comfort in the innocent blood it has spilled.”

  34. ST, It’s not about posters but evidently you and the little imposter (maybe the the same) obviously live to finally see your words in print on an internet message board. Maybe it’s the best you can do!

Mark Twain would be an excellent example for all the “we are the world” pc’ers to learn from. His “American” inspired works should be read much more widely.

  35. Heya i’m for the first time here. I found this board and I to find It really helpful & it helped me out a lot. I hope to provide one thing again and aid others such as you aided me.
