We thought Matt Damon hit rock bottom in the bomb “Hereafter” with its’ phony metaphysical speculation and religious undertones. After the first amazing tsunami scene (thanks to the cinematographer) the movie degenerated into a dull and dreary experience. But Matt has topped that stinker with “The Adjustment Bureau.” This film is based on the unlikely premise that men in black suits and hats control our destiny under the direction of ”the chairman,” who resides somewhere in the sky. The script is absolutely silly and immature and the actors involved must be embarrassed. The plot was loosely based on a short story by sci- fi writer Philip K Dick, who must be spinning in his grave. Some short stories should REMAIN short stories.
Matt Damon Movies The Adjustment Bureau
That’s too bad. I was looking forward to this movie. I guess I will wait for it on DVD. Thanks Janet!!
Wow Janet, tell us what you think! I gotta admit i thought the previews made it look exciting and a bit intriguing, and with Matt Damon on Board, as well as the fairly newly minted Emily Blunt, I was willing to give it a chance. I’ll check with Roger Ebert. He always seems to have a level head on his shoulders. Also interested in the new one with Liam Neeson.
Thank you for seeing these craptacular movies, Janet, so we don’t have to!
Funny how Ben Affleck with writing and Directing “The Town” really is the one starting to shine of the two!
I loved this movie and look forward to a sequel. There was a lot of chemistry between the actors.
Maybe the movie is good, maybe not. Regardless, the name of Matt Damon spells b.o.r.i.n.g.
maybe they will hire jim carrey more often now?
The movie has gotten great reviews. I’m seeing it today.
We must have seen two different movies because I enjoyed it.
Janet I’m surprised you are badmouthing this film. You usually plug dreadful movies. Have a falling out with a studio boss?
Roger Ebert has a great review of the movie on his website. He really liked it by the way and recommended it.
