Were you a regular at the downtown LA raves, loft parties, art events, and funky clubs in the 80’s? You can remember those fun and outrageous times at the Red Dot Gallery & Bistro at 500 South Spring Street with what they call a “live oral history panel.” The panel consists of reps from 80’s hotspots Madame Wong’s, Atomic CafĂ©, Gorky’s, Plastic Passion, and Al’s Bar, and they will all be reminiscing. It’s Sun, Feb 17, from 3 to 5 – you might run into some familiar faces there.
Sounds cool.
We had a great punk/art scene here until the Orange County skinhead/jock/slam dance geeks ruined it…the Starwood closing down (after the “punks” started fighting, pissing on neighbor’s lawns and breaking bottles in the streets) was the beginning of the end.
Answer to the question: Me.
I was in college at BARNARD COLLEGE in New York.
Wow, the eighties were cool. I still wear my Don Johnson suit and loafers without socks all the time.

My niece.

Aids..! Oh wasn’t that a fun disease?
Oh the terrible 80’s with fake people, fake clothes, and fake music, std’s, drug addicts, sexual rebellion and liberal cruelty became unbearable.
