The House That Jack Built

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MATT DILLON

You will never look at Matt “The Flamingo Kid” Dillon the same way after you see his new movie The House That Jack Built, according to those who’ve seen it. Some viewers suggest that he will henceforth be typecast as some form of creepy psychopath. Half the movie’s audience walked out in disgust at the Cannes Film Festival. Director Lars Von Trier seems to enjoy sadistic violence and Dillon’s serial killer character really enjoys planning and carrying out hideously brutal murders. Four minutes of gore were cut out to create an R rated version, but the original director’s cut will also be available for those who can stand it.

MATT DILLON: BAD TIMING OR GOOD TIMING?

Audience members in Cannes walked out in droves muttering under their breath, during the screening of Matt Dillon’s new film by Lars Von Trier, The House That Jack Built. He plays a psychotic serial killer fond of torturing and slaughtering women, children, and a few men. The gruesome details repulsed some viewers but others clapped at the end. Women ARE justifiably turned off by films that “glamorize” and perhaps inspire, such behavior – real life is bad enough. This could push former teen heartthrob Matt’s career in a whole new direction. He’s 54 now and last we heard Matt had an Italian choreographer girlfriend, Roberta Mastromichele.
