DAVID BECKHAM’S SPEECH REDUCES VICTORIA TO TEARS

Sometimes we forget how striking and handsome – and consistently well dressed – David Beckham is. He is not the ordinary soccer player. David showed up looking like this at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show and was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. His wife Victoria and their three sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 4, were in the audience when David made an emotional speech. He praised his wife, saying “Not only has she given me three amazing boys, but support and inspiration every day.” He thanked her, and Victoria struggled to hold back the tears. Sweet.

As a result of living nearly four years in the US, David Beckham says his kids Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5, make fun of their father’s British accent. Sometimes they laugh and mimic his pronunciation. David says he was putting Cruz to bed recently and he said “Daddy, you’re so ENGLISH!” The entire Beckham family has decided that Los Angeles is where they want to be. David likes to tell his UK pals that last December he and the boys were in the pool. “LA is a great place to live.” We agree.

THE BECKHAMS ARE SETTLING IN BEVERLY HILLS

The first family of fashion has decided to call Los Angeles home. David and Victoria Beckham are selling their massive 24 acre estate in the UK, which is worth almost 25 million dollars, and calling their Beverly Hills house home base from now on. Their three sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5, love living in sunny LA. Accountants advised David and Victoria to sell the English estate, jokingly called “Beckingham Palace,” because the upkeep was astronomical and they were seldom there. The family will maintain a London townhouse for visits.

David Beckham was disappointed in the World Cup results and Victoria vowed to cheer him up when she returned to the UK. Before she left Victoria popped into Barneys lingerie department and announced that she wanted to surprise her husband with several “new bedroom looks.” She’s determined to keep their private time interesting so Victoria selected a couple of lacy bra and thong sets, sheer chemises, and a teddy with garters. She topped off her purchases with a black satin tasseled blindfold that had “Love is Blind “ written across the front. An observer remarked that it appeared that Victoria was very much in love with her husband.

THE JONAS BROTHERS PERFORM AT THE GROVE FOR A FAMOUS FAMILY IN THE CROWD

While driving by The Grove in Los Angeles Saturday we noticed a two block line of young girls snaking down the street outside. Today we learned the crowd was there to see a free concert by The Jonas Brothers. And EVERYBODY was there – including the Beckham family. Whether David and Victoria brought the boys there specifically for the concert, or they just happened to be shopping and caught up in the moment, the famous family seemed to enjoy the show without being noticed.

BRITS MAKE FUN OF DAVID BECKHAM’S HAIRCUT

David Beckham created quite a stir when he arrived in Cape Town as England’s ambassador when various countries competed to host the World Cup tournament. He spent a day posing for photos and changed his suit three times. The UK’s Daily Mail newspaper criticized what they described as his ”mohican haircut and designer stubble.” Actually his Mohawk haircut is very cool and he happens to look great.

THE BECKHAMS HAVE TWO NEW FAMILY MEMBERS

These little mini-pigs are becoming VERY popular and Victoria and David Beckham love to jump on the trend bandwagon early. The Beckhams paid around $2000 for a pair of the piglets (considerably less money than one of Victoria’s handbags costs.) The adorable pigs only weigh around 9 ounces at birth and grow to be about 14 inches tall and up to 65 pounds. The pigs can be housebroken, and will have a comfortable home at the Beckhams sprawling compound outside London. We only hope they’re not forgotten when they grow up.
