USHER: WHAT ABOUT ME?

Looks like Usher hasn’t been getting enough publicity lately. What’s a guy to do? Usher took a hint from the pros – Paris, Nicole, and Lindsay, and he went where the cameras are: Robertson Blvd. Just like the heavily photographed girls, he shopped at Kitson Men and acted surprised when a mob of photographers was waiting outside to greet him. And to be absolutely certain his presence was noted, he dined on the outside patio at The Ivy. Mission accomplished.
CHRISTINA RICCI ON HER OWN

Christina Ricci is a modern woman. Here she is nonchalantly walking into Kate Mantilini on Wilshire Blvd at lunchtime yesterday. She was later seen sitting at a window table eating ALONE. Not many celebrities have the self confidence to eat by themselves or go ANYWHERE, for that matter, without their entourage.
SALMA HAYEK AND PENELOPE CRUZ: FRIENDS INDEED
We were really annoyed by those rumors about Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz being MORE than just friends simply because they like to hang out together. Hey, they’re not gay, they’re FRIENDS! And apparently Salma is really a standup girl and loyal to people she cares about. Salma has been tirelessly campaigning and verbally supporting both Penelope and another friend –Adrianna Barraza– to get them award show recognition, and hopefully Oscar nominations. Salma feels that Penelope’s role in Volver and Adrianna’s supporting role in Babel both deserve Hollywood’s attention and she promotes them at every opportunity. Not many actresses go to bat for other actresses like that.
WENTWORTH MILLER: A CHANCE MEETING

Last night we had a wonderful experience at the Arclight theater. We were walking out after seeing Notes on a Scandal and my companion was remarking about how bad the villainous leading character made lesbians look. (Still, it IS a good movie) We noticed a mob of fans and photographers and when we investigated we found dreamy Prison Break star Wentworth Miller was the object of their attention. You couldn’t miss him – he’s tall and drop-dead handsome. We were tongue-tied, but managed to ask him for a photo. We were struck by how polite and patient he was. And he was SOOO clean. Certainly the most delectable actor on TV.
PAMELA ANDERSON: BADA BING!
A few important details were left out of the Pam Anderson – Kid Rock story in Las Vegas. You may have read elsewhere that Kid Rock got riled up when he heard Pam left a Vegas party with her ex Tommy Lee and he broke down a hotel door to confront them. Kid Rock was misinformed. Actually Pam did NOT hang out in Las Vegas with Tommy. She was with a group of friends that included her new buddy Heidi Fleiss and billionaire Steve Bing. The group spent a comparatively quiet evening together. If Pam DID have a date with Steve recently, it couldn’t have gone TOO badly because they’re still palling around. We predict that Bing is gradually insinuating himself into Pam’s life even though he is not her type. He’s hoping that he will “grow on her.” With his money, stranger things have happened.
COURTENEY COX DROPPED THE BALL
Sorry, Courteney, we think you missed the boat when it comes to your new series Dirt. You have a lot to learn about tabloid journalism and celebrity weeklies. Your fatal error was making the show a dreadful melodrama / soap opera. Take it from an expert, there is nothing more FUN than celebrity gossip! The crazy, nervy things that hapless reporters have to do to get a scoop are fascinating. (For your information, editors are NOT seen at premiers or nightclubs trolling for news.) And celebrities’ outrageous behavior is ALWAYS hugely entertaining. Yes, the photographers are a bunch of eccentric characters who delight in outsmarting each other. Tipsters are often actors who want to make their competition look bad. And don’t forget those power hungry publicists. It’s a crazy exciting world that changes every day, but it’s always good for a LAUGH. And THAT’S what Dirt lacks.

NICKY HILTON SPOILS HER MEN
We don’t know what kind of Christmas Kevin Connelly had, but we know that Nicky Hilton’s NEW boyfriend David Katzenberg had a merry one. On December 23 last minute shopper Nicky scooped up $40,000 worth of gifts at Chrome Hearts . She bought a stack of leather and sterling silver hats at $395 for friends and family. The biggest gift was for David – a customized vintage Rolex watch with a sterling silver band covered with diamonds and rubies.The face of the one-of -a- kind $25,000 Rolox features a yellow skull. Nicky is good to her boyfriends.
DJ AM: BOO HOO
Nothing seems to be going right for DJ AM Adam Goldstein since he and Nicole Richie went their separate ways. First Adam complained that he misses getting all that publicity he enjoyed when he was with Nicole – not to mention all those high paying DJ jobs her notoriety helped him get. Now he’s complaining to friends that he’s gained twenty pounds and as a result he has to go back for more gastric bypass surgery to deal with the problem. Sometimes it pays to have a popular girlfriend who’s not interested in eating.
