ENRIQUE IGLESIAS SAYS ADIOS TO ANNA KOURNIKOVA- OR DOES HE?
Now that Enrique Iglesias has said what he claims is his final farewell to the shapely tennis star Anna Kournikova, we have no regrets. Actually, we don’t think he was such a great catch. He couldn’t commit after all these years (a tendency inherited from his father?) and he didn’t seem to realize that Anna gave him legitimacy. In other words, he was more interesting WITH her than without her. On the petty side, we always disliked his taste in headwear and the fact that he walked around with his mouth hanging open. Maybe he reconsidered the split, because now he’s backtracking with “I was only kidding!” Anna, the ball’s in your court.
Above we have a look back at Lindsay Lohan in happier days. We didn’t feel SORRY for Lindsay when we heard about her latest self destructive behavior, but we do now that her father has stuck his nose into it. Granted, Lindsay’s car wreck, DUI, and possible drug problems are appalling, but not really surprising, given her history. What’s REALLY grating is limelight-hungry Michael Lohan (who’s no stranger to DUI charges either) seizing the opportunity to publicize himself as a reformed hell-raiser who got religion while in prison. Now he boasts that he’s a minister and he’s putting himself on a pious pedestal making judgments about his daughter. He blusters that she needs God in her life and “faith-based rehab.” Hey, she could also use a decent, caring father.
Britney Spears had a happy weekend, counting her blessings that Lindsay Lohan was the one with the DUI and not HER. Brit celebrated by taking a spin in the sunshine with a new toy – a jaunty convertible Mini Cooper. And without a bodyguard in sight! Of course, they are probably in a car ten feet behind her.

Why are these Dr Martens dead rock star ads causing such an uproar? We think using dead rockers lounging in heaven in their Doc Martens is a brilliant idea. Offensive? These guys- Joe Strummer, Sid Vicious, Joey Ramone, and Kurt Cobain, THRIVED on being offensive when they were alive. That’s why we loved them. And they DID wear Doc Martens. The ads simply state “Dr Martens. Forever.” What’s so offensive about THAT? Granted, Cobain’s widow Courtney Love is disgruntled because British copyright laws who’t allow her to collect any money for this. THAT’s why she griped that the ad was in bad taste. We are really steamed at the cowardly Doc Martens CEO, David Suddens, who caved in to Love and GROVELED and apologized for his “tasteless” blunder, and pulled the ads. Then he FIRED the ad agency (Saatchi & Saatchi London) responsible for this brilliant campaign. What’s WRONG with these Dr Martens people?
Newlywed Amy Winehouse is back in London, settling into the role of housewife. She had a puzzling moment when she hauled the trash out behind her North London home only to find her garbage cans weren’t there. A kindly neighbor let her dump her bags in his container. Later she and husband Blake went to the store to stock up on a few necessities, including pots and pans and toilet paper. The happy pair spent the rest of the afternoon at the local pub.
