We’ve seen a lot of bikini photos of Lindsay Lohan lately and she looked so tan, but whatever it was, it must have faded. Apparently she doesn’t want the real sun to multiply her freckles so she’s on her way to a tanning salon in Malibu to give herself some artificial, but much needed pigment.
We still wonder “What do these people (including Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony) have IN COMMON? Most groups of pals have something alike in background or interests, but this group led by Tom Cruise is still a mystery. Of course, they must all be scientologists or at the very least, scientology sympathizers, but we’re still trying to figure what pulls them together intellectually. Anyway, Tom threw this huge party at LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art, for Victoria and David Beckham and they even had red carpet arrivals. (Isn’t that unusual for a private party?) We didn’t think Tom had that many friends – many of the 600 guests were said to be clients and people related to CAA- David’s reps. Another hundred were high ranking scientologists. We love that museum and hope they got a big donation.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos hosted a gallery party in the Hamptons for artist Russell Young – who happens to be one of our absolute FAVORITE artists! His whimsical prints of celebrity mug shots (Frank Sinatra is seen above) are brilliant – we like Sid Vicious the best – and they’re going to be worth a lot of money someday.

Dean Cain and his 7 year old lookalike son Christopher (the only difference is the blonde hair!) had dinner at Nobu in Malibu. Dean is such a great catch and he’s never been married. Christopher’s mom is Dean’s exgirlfriend, Playboy model Samantha Torres. Chris has a cool dad – he’s a former Superman, well educated (a degree from Princeton,) mannerly, handsome, and family oriented. Actually, Christopher is a lucky kid.

How can Debra Messing continue to deny that she is pregnant with her second child? It’s cleverly draped, but – whoa- her intricate outfit tells the story. We didn’t know she was a big polo fan either. Speaking of pregnancies, we have always felt that Debra’s first pregnancy caused Will & Grace to jump the shark and -although she couldn’t help it- that’s why the show went off the air. Anybody else think that?

It’s funny because Bijou Phillips is getting better and better looking – thanks in part to the influence of her clean living boyfriend Danny “That 70’s Show” Masterson. At the same time he is getting less and less attractive. Maybe it’s the beard. Here they are together watching polo in the Hamptons

Wow! The opening day of polo in the Hamptons attracted a wide variety of celebrities. Here’s Aretha Franklin (it seems like she rarely leaves Detroit) and we are thrilled to see that she is fully clothed. Sometimes onstage she wears those horribly revealing and unflattering dresses. We didn’t know she was a polo fan.
We covered the Emmy nominations at 5 AM at the TV Academy with our film crew for Super Drama TV in Japan. They were particularly delighted when Japanese actor Masi Oka was nominated for Heroes. Later that day we were all having lunch at Marino’s in Larchmont Village, and who walked into the restaurant but THREE Heroes! Masi Oka, who plays Hiro, Jack Coleman, who plays Mr Bennet, and Zachary Quinto, who plays Sylar. It was nice to see that the three actors are good friends. The Japanese film crew waited patiently for Masi to finish eating because they hoped to get an on-camera comment from him about his nomination. Before Masi could even say “Thanks, I’m happy to be nominated” he insisted on calling his publicist for PERMISSION to speak – which he didn’t get. Masi was nice but why do actors let themselves be bossed around like that? His fans in Japan would have loved to see him.

Count Kim Kardashian and Denise Richards among the brave single women who showed up for the Luau at the Playboy mansion Saturday night. Only exceptionally beautiful and bold female celebrities show up for these male oriented events. Playboy parties have lousy odds for females – there are usually ten women to each man and a majority of the women are young Playboy models in skimpy outfits who are more than available. Most of the guys are leering casanovas and older sugar daddies – not exactly the cream of the male crop. So you have to give Kim and Denise credit for getting dressed up and attempting to have a good time against all odds.

Here’s a face we haven’t seen clubbing (at Les Deux to be exact) in awhile – it’s Corey Feldman and his wife Susie. Corey’s talking up his reality show The Two Coreys coming up on A&E. Apparently the show bears a startling resemblance to The Odd Couple – with Feldman as the persnickety Felix type versus Haim as the sloppy Oscar type. When Haim moves in with the Feldmans it becomes apparent how much the Coreys have grown apart since they filmed The Lost Boys. For instance, Feldman has turned his back on Michael Jackson and no longer dresses like him, and Haim has given up heroin and lost 120 pounds.
