Granted, Whitney Houston DID celebrate her 44th birthday with her exhusband Bobby Brown at Joe’s Crab Shack in Alpharetta, Georgia, where you can get a bucket of shrimp for $7.99, just like TMZ.com revealed. But despite the looks on their faces, they are NOT getting back together. (They have a daughter in common, remember?) Last we heard Bobby is still living with his girlfriend, Alicia Etheridge, who is now his manager. And Whitney’s off-again on-again thing with Ray J heated up when he sent her diamond earrings for her birthday – a generous four karat stud for each ear (4 + 4 =44!)

AMY WINEHOUSE; FATHER KNOWS BEST

We KNOW Amy Winehouse is in trouble when she goes out without her beehive. She was photographed at The Four Seasons hotel in the UK where she and her parents and her husband Blake and HIS parents all got together to discuss her substance problem. Amy’s parents feel Blake is to blame for her recent binge and the discussion took a turn for the worse when Amy’s cab driving dad Mitch tried to strangle Blake’s father. They had to be pulled apart. Amy still insists that rehab is for wimps and says she’s counting on her dad to straighten her out.

FAY DUNAWAY: EVERY OUNCE COUNTS

Diners at the Larchmont Koo Koo Roo were taken aback when they saw Faye Dunaway stride in the door wearing gym clothes and disposable clear plastic FOOD HANDLING GLOVES! Our spy said she looked muscular, slim and healthy. She ordered chicken and broccoli to go, and then she sat at a table with her food container. She pulled a tiny scale out of her purse and “in a manic way” proceeded to pull the chicken meat off the bones and weigh it. She piled the bones and skin on a napkin. She carefully weighed the chicken meat and broccoli and the broccoli was a little short so she went to the counter and asked for more. When everything was measured, she put it back in the carry-out box. She picked up the castoff chicken bones and threw them in the trash and peeled off the gloves and threw them away also. She walked out triumphant with her meal to go and we wonder WHAT super-specific diet she is on!

MACY GRAY WEARS BLACK TO THE BEACH

Macy Gray looks really good at the Polaroid party in Malibu, but we can’t help but wonder why people wear black clothes on a hot beach day. Macy loves black all the time – you can tell because she’s having an online “estate sale” on eBay right now and most of her clothes for sale are black. And everything is authenticated. How she can call it an “estate sale” when she’s still alive is a mystery to us.

This is absolutely the most flattering photo of Paula Abdul that we’ve seen in ages! She will LOVE it! She looks so young and sweet here as she walks in Beverly Hills with her boyfriend JT Torregiani, who’s not in this frame. Her wavy hair has a great natural look and she appears to be tan and relaxed for a change.

Heroes‘ cute cheerleader Hayden Panettiere is such a fixture at Hollywood clubs (like Les Deux above) that it’s hard to believe it will be THREE more years before she can drink legally. She hates it when people compare her to Lindsay Lohan, but sometimes it’s understandable.

Here’s a face we haven’t seen for awhile and Dolph Lundgren is still looking good. (Above he was photographed at Koi.) He seems to make a lot of European movies and straight to video films but he’s kept busy through the years. Remember, Grace Jones discovered the Swedish hunk when he was a doorman at a New York club and Sylvester Stallone cast him in a Rocky movie in the late eighties.

We can’t help but notice the profusion of lollipops in that car and can only hope they’re as innocent as they look also. Seems like Brit’s left eyelash is trying to make a run for it.

AMY WINEHOUSE: IS HER HUSBAND BLAKE TO BLAME FOR HER TERRIBLE CONDITION?

Just as the world suspected – Amy Winehouse’s “exhaustion” was drug induced. A source told UK’s Sun that she was smoking heroin and doing ecstasy, cocaine, and a horse tranquilizer Ketamine, during the three day drug and booze binge that landed her in the hospital half dead. She did NOT go to rehab like her parents hoped, instead her family checked her into the Four Seasons Hotel to get her away from her druggie friends. Her father wants her to have minders 24 hours a day to keep her away from temptation. She’s having trouble eating and keeping food down. Her friends blame her husband Blake for her downfall – “he controls her like a puppet-master.” Amy told her mother she thinks she will die young.
