ARNOLD THE GOVERNATOR IS NOW A HIT MAN

It’s fun to see our former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in Canada being prettied up for his new comedy/action movie “Why We’re Killing Gunther,” written and directed by SNL’s Taran Killam. (Who, incidentally will NOT be back next season.) Arnold plays Gunther, the world’s greatest hit-man and he’s tormented by a bunch of competitive international assassins conniving to kill him. Gunther is an obnoxious show-off, but he’s also savvy and repeatedly outsmarts his hapless stalkers in the film. Arnold actually got a cute haircut for the role.

SEAN STEWART: EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY

Hate to say it, but Rod Stewart’s spawn Sean Stewart is probably what people think of when they imagine pampered kids of celebrities. When he was younger he aspired to being a model or develop his own record label. But he’s 35 now and the most he’s done is appear on reality shows like Celebrity Rehab and Stewarts & Hamiltons. He still goes clubbing, but never looks too happy about it. He even seems a little dazed and bored getting his mani-pedi done in Beverly Hills.

ALL SHOOK UP AFTER DIVORCE, LISA MARIE PRESLEY CHECKS INTO REHAB

The Enquirer is reporting that Lisa Marie Presley, 48, has checked herself into a fancy rehab in LA for abusing painkillers. Surprisingly, it was AFTER she filed for divorce from her fashion challenged husband Michael Lockwood, 55, on June 24. Who wouldn’t need painkillers living with such a strange looking man? They have 7 year old twin girls together. Apparently Lockwood was a very big shopper and spent Lisa’s money hand over fist. She didn’t like it and they argued. Also Scientology might have been a factor- she opted OUT, but Michael didn’t commit one way or another.

SHARON STONE IS EXCITED ABOUT SPENDING THE EVENING WITH ADELE

Sharon Stone and her friends are more than ready for a night of fun at the Adele concert at the Staples Center. Adele has an eight night sold out run in LA and both her shows and albums are leaving major performers like Beyonce and Taylor Swift in the dust. People simply can’t get enough of Adele’s sensitive lyrics and just plain beautiful music. No state of the art spectacles like most concerts. Adele has been in LA long enough this time to experience a few things and onstage she declared her love for Bristol Farms – the upscale celebrity grocery store. (It’s our favorite too!)

“DANNY SAYS” – THE MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE WITH A DOCUMENTARY

This documentary, called Danny Says, is so much fun we didn’t want it to end. If you are fascinated by the revolution of pop culture in New York in the 60’s and 70’s, (or if you were THERE) you’re gonna LOVE this film! Danny Fields was a Harvard educated wannabe hipster who landed in the Village in the 60’s and started writing for Datebook – a teen music oriented magazine. He hung out at Max’s Kansas City and CBGB’s and was thrust into the world of The Beatles, Warhol and The Stooges. He developed a crush on Jim Morrison and declared himself press agent to the up-and-coming Doors, thus opening up new career opportunities. Danny is loaded with hilarious anecdotes – many involving drugs – and comments about the celebs he encountered. He landed a job with Electra Records sniffing for new talent and the crazier they were, the more Danny loved them. Interviews with Danny’s acquaintances and musicians (like Iggy Pop and Lou Reed) add to the humor. Eventually Fields discovered and promoted The Ramones, who wrote the song “Danny Says” – hence the title. This film presents an insiders comical view of a great time in history – we can’t say enough good things about it.

DIANE KEATON: SOME LIKE IT HOT

Apparently the weather has little effect on Diane Keaton’s fashion choices. Once we saw her at the Rose Bowl flea market on a 90–plus degree day wearing a layered black wool Yohji Yamamoto jacket, pants, and buttoned up shirt with a large black hat. Today she was in Beverly Hills having an animated phone conversation and she seemed oblivious to the heat. That’s a long black sweater over what might be a dress over pants. She’s also wearing grey sleeves, a long scarf, and a Crooks Castles snap back urban hat. How DOES she do it?

THE FLAMING LIPS : A KNOCKOUT IN THE UK

You get more than your fair share of visuals at a Flaming Lips concert. The Oklahoma based band has been dishing up elaborate psychedelic stage shows featuring puppets, video projections, science fiction, etc since the 80’s. No surprise that they’re a big hit in the UK – above at The Wilderness Festival 2016. Wayne Coyne (above) and the band teamed up with – of all people – Miley Cyrus for the memorable 2014 Billboard Awards. An unexpected pairing, but actually it was a career boost for both of them.

WOODY ALLEN IS COMING TO YOUR TV SOON


We’ve been waiting eagerly for a look at Woody Allen’s first TV mini-series for Amazon called Crisis in Six Scenes. (Debuts September 30) It takes place during the culture clash in the 1960’s. The fact that it really looks enticing only adds to the mystery of how MUCH Woody accomplishes every year at his advanced ago. How can one man write SO MANY movies, much less direct them? And he never runs out of ideas! Maybe ALL his films aren’t fabulous, but enough of them are to make you always go back for more. Now we have to figure out how to access Amazon…

ANDREW DICE CLAY HAS NEVER LOOKED WORSE

We’ve seen him look pretty awful in the past, but this get-up that Andrew Dice Clay wore to Craig’s restaurant is an insult to everyone who has to look at him. An appetite killer. It looks like Andrew borrowed one of his son’s basketball outfits and added his own accessories. Those shorts! Those shoes and socks! And fingerless leather gloves (like Madonna wears) with that black leather harness–handbag combination! (Note to barber: those bushy white sideburns look like earmuffs.) Is THIS how a grown man (Dice is 58) dresses to go to an upscale restaurant?

COREY FELDMAN: TURNING INTO ANOTHER CHARLIE SHEEN?

Recently we posted a photo of Corey Feldman, 45, and an observant reader pointed out that he’s “turning into another Charlie Sheen.” That’s absolutely right! At first we compared him to a “mini Hugh Hefner” with his collection of Corey’s Angels, but Charlie is more like it. There IS a resemblance. All Corey needs is a TV series, lots of drugs and money and he’ll be another Sheen – he already has the blondes.
