JANEANE GARAFOLO HAS NO BEEF WITH SCIENTOLOGY

garafolocut .jpg
The internet group called Anonymous (XENU.NET) has been picketing Scientology buildings in Hollywood and recently they showed up in full force when the Celebrity Centre held a major black tie $600 a plate event . The protesters, who are popping up all around the world, wear masks and carry signs that say things like:
“Ron is Gone, But the Con Goes On”
“Revoke the Scientology Tax Exemption”
“Scientology Kills”
“Honk if you Hate Tom Cruise
Coincidentally, politically conscious Janeane Garafolo, in a green t shirt and pink leggings, happened to be walking down the street and when she saw the protesters she sneered “F***ING BIGOTS!”
The protesters were surprised by her thoughtless comment, because they are convinced that Scientologists are the bigots. Maybe she wants to be on the “church’s” good side.

  1. She’s so “D” list, it shouldn’t matter what she says. BTW, she’s looking particularly nasty these days…Maybe that’s the reason for her anger.

  2. I was at that gig she did at the Upright Citizens Brigade’s improv accross the street from the the Celebrity Centre gala last Saturday night and the protester were rude and pushing signs and handouts into your face as you walked down the sidewalk. They were as freaky as the Scientologists. The police were there in full force. It was like a scene out of a movie.

  3. Anyone that’s interested, please come to Enturbulation.org to find out more about Chanology and Anonymous’ fight against the cult.

  4. She’s always been creepy. I’ve never heard her say anything positive about anything or anybody. Always negative. I agree with Anonymous 11:57, she always looks so skanky and disheveled. She can be funny, though, when she’s just doing comedy and not on her soapbox.

  5. I agree with her the protesters ARE bigots!!
If you don’t want to be a Scientologist then
don’t be one but you have no right to stop
    others from what they believe!

  6. The protestors know that Scientology believes in reincarnation (among other gross things), and are trying to wake them up to this false cult. L. Ron Hubbard committed suicide. Jesus, the Son of God, the Saviour of the world rose from the dead and will save anyone who believes and repents. Seems that anyone would prefer heaven over hell…..but as someone above said,…..to each his own. Jesus said.: “Do you hate me because I tell you the truth?”. End of sermon for now.

  7. Are aliens coming out of a volcano actually freakier than a guy that turns fish into loaves of bread, burns bushes with his eyes and walks on water? I think not. Cmon’ people. Get real. We are descendants of apes and you all know it.

  8. Scientology kills. Look how it killed Tom Cruise’s career. And Jenna Elfman’s career (admittedly never a very good one). And John Travolta’s career.

  9. Each of our sacred religions was invented by a guy, or group of guys who sat around a table one night and tried to figure out a way to control their part of the world. They wrote a book, and voila! A new religion was born. That’s how we got Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and on and on. When people found out how easy it was, we got some real ringers like Mormonism and Scientology. They all get tax deductions and endless special treatment from the government. Scientology is no different than any of them. Just a little more entertaining.

  10. I guess Janeane Garafolo doesn’t need Scientology. She already killed her own career by being an unfunny, bitter slob. Stop trying to kiss up to the Scienos, Janeane, they can’t help you, and they don’t like homosexuals.

  11. Riddle me this: Scientology believes illness stems from the mind and they don’t believe in medicine or doctors. So what happens when a member of the church gets severly sick? And why did Katie Holmes give birth in a hospital surrounded by “doctors”.
Also why can’t they cure Kirstie Alley of her fat? Apparently Scientologists are invincible and can do anything.

  12. Kait I see your point, but I’m a lapsed Jew and I’m not threatened by my temple. I’m not stalked and I’m not hounded. I also didn’t shell out a six figure paycheck each year to be a member. My best friend is catholic and I wasn’t shunned for hanging out with her.
Scientology demands six figures each year plus alienates you from friends and loved ones who don’t want to become members. Those who decide to leave the church are often stalked and harassed. That’s not a religion, that’s a cult. Also, another funny tidbit, Scientology considers itself a scientific belief.

  13. You don’t need to do anything more than look at the photos of Katie Holmes from before her “marriage” to Tom Cruise, and compare them to what she looks like now. She is the walking dead. That is the result of isolation, starvation, Scieno “vitamins,” auditing (sessions lasting as long as 36 hours where you are hounded to confess every thought and deed you have ever had so they can blackmail you with them later) and the constant threat of losing your children, and maybe your own life, if you try to leave. There’s a reason Nicole Kidman rarely sees her children, and will never speak about these monsters. She’s terrified because she knows what they have done and will do to protect their tax dodge.

  14. We are descendants of apes and you all know it.
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Not true. Last summer they found more human bones
older then they thought man should be..
It blew the ape theory out the window.

  15. There are plenty of stories of harassment, ridiculous financial expectations (can you say, “tithing”?), and shocking hatred in each religion. When a religion promotes a culture of love and support, which each of them do in their own way, it’s good. But because of the power society gives religion, there are far more negatives than positives with many, if not most of them.
I don’t want to deny anyone their private beliefs and faith. But when religion goes from private to public, it gets ugly.

  16. Did you see those protesters? were any of you there? They were WORSE than who they were complaining about. Wishing someone was dead makes you wrong even if you are right. And if half of you bloggers had half of Jeanne’s intelligence honesty, balls, and class you would shut up. You really lose all ground and just sound uneducated and mean. But I always seem to say this everyweekend. I love love love Janet, but now I see why 12 people comment on this cite…tops. the blind piece has been of for 4 weeks and it has 59 hits, what is that 2 people a day? I love janet but these haters have got go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Janeane is a self-admitted atheist, which already settles where she will spend eternity. So she doesn’t have to shell out thousand$ to join Scientology, as she will have billions of years in hell with them. Many have suspected that she is a lesbian, but if you are already an atheist, you can only go to hell once.

You should be banned for calling her that vile word..
It is like using the N word.

  19. @7:30am#1 So then Issac Hayes died because he couldn’t take medication and see doctors for his heart condition. He was propbaly stressed to give up his job at South Park thus leaving a great pay check. At that age that is a cushy job. Now trying to go out on the road to make ends meet. He has to pay Scientology and keep his family together a 25 year old wife and two baby son’s to take care of, that is stressedful for an old man. I really believe now when they say sciencetology kills.

  20. @Rolling Eyes
While offical reports list a stroke as Isaac Hayes’ cause of death, there’s a really interesting article implying Scientology may have played a role in his demise. The article explains how Scientologist Isaac Hayes lost the rights to all his songs back in 1977 and really wasn’t doing well financially until the late 1990’s when he got that gig voicing the character of Chef on South Park. The article also reveals the little known fact that Isaac suffered a debilitating stoke in 2006 that’d left him with significant motor control and speech issues. Anyway, the article goes on to say that after South Park started riding really hard against the Scientology sect, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker say Isaac came to them in tears saying he was under tremendous pressure from Scientology leaders to quit the show unless South Park quit their campaign against their religion. They refused, forcing Isaac to choose between his job and his beliefs. He choose his faith and quit the show. According to the article, “Isaac

  21. In person Janeane is very pretty woman, and smart as a whip!

  22. This is a true story about SCI: My hubby and I drove to Clearwater, FL. where the main SCI sea org. is located. We went in and pretended we thought it was a hotel and asked the rates. At that time, a woman came out and said it was not a hotel and gave us a pamphlet explaining SCI. At this point, we were getting very scared because noticed there were cameras everywhere.
We left and stood outside a minute. Around the corner comes about 40 zombie-like humans staring straight ahead, not blinking, and marched into the main front door.
Then, a big blank-eyed goon came out and glared at us at which time we walked (fast) to the car 2 blocks away. He followed us half-way there, and we were terrified. Please google SCI and L. Ron Hubbard and stay far far away.

  23. Lisa Marie Presley almost died a few years ago. She was sick with a very bad case of flu. They gave her high doses of niacin to sweat the fever out of her, and she almost died. Another girl did die who was made to go to a Scientology doctor and was put in confinement because she threatned to rat on them. She died at about age 25. The story was reported, but little follow up, because Sci hushed it up fast.

  24. Since I am sure Nicole Kidman has read about the evils of Scientology, she surely by now knows that her 2 kids are being turned into scientology robots. She is the worst of mothers. It is like those brain=wash cults you see on TV where the mother hires special cult-busters to go in and rescue their kids under dark of night. She is just letting them rot with the tiny terrible one. She should rescue them at all costs and get them de-programmed from years of this hell.
I can’t believe idiot Katie would let the lure of the SCI demon-meister and all his star-power and money rob of her of her immortal soul. But that is exactly what has happened.

  25. You can bash religions all you want but Judiasm, Catholicism, Islam doesn’t deny their members medical and psychiatric care. Also they don’t undertake strange vitamins and rituals to be deemed “clear” or whatever that means. And, yeah, why the hell is Kirstie Alley huge, shouldn’t Scientology help her lose weight?
Sadly, many Scientology members have died over the years and nothing has been done about it. Google Lisa McPherson and Scientology. It’s very disturbing.

  26. Kait you can’t compare religions like Christianity, Judiasm, Buddhism to a fabricated, born of a drug addict cult called Scientology. I grew up in a strict Christian household and I can’t stand religion and I don’t even go to church, but I’m not stalked and my life hasn’t been threatened. Also I don’t think my family has shelled out thousands of dollars to attend mass nor have I been denied medical treatment when I got really sick. Yeah, religion is complicated and it’s personal, but when people mysteriously die like most Scientology members then it’s pretty shady. Bottom line: Scientology IS NOT a religion. It’s a SCAM. Spirituality is free of charge.

  27. On the contrary: SHE IS INDEED LOOKING LIKE ONE, not?

  28. Scientology IS NOT a religion.
    YES IT IS~
If you don’t want to be a Scientologist then
don’t be one but your a bigot if you try and
stop others from what they want to believe.

  29. From Merriam-Webster’s online:

  30. It’s not like this a made-up, stupiedo, conning dangerous religion that has, robbed, ruined killed their believers.. uh,.. oh wait?! Down with Xenu and Tom Thumboid!

  31. If one wants to worship Xenu and the dead (and in hell) L. Ron Hubbard, go right ahead.
The key to heaven is a personal relationship with Christ Jesus, God in the flesh, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again and is alive forevermore.
Religion (in and of itself) can send you to hell. (Buddhism, Hinduism, Jehovah Witness, Kabbalah, Scientology, Mormonism, Taoism, all false cult/religions).
The 2nd paragraph is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE to heaven.

  32. More from me, Little Bumble Bee:
I left off a main one: ISLAM.
These are really going to boil in the lake of fire. Muslims/Islam caused 9/11, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and a multitude of miseries.

  33. Lindy please read up on Scientology. They only call it a religion for tax exemption purposes. There have been lots of interesting articles, the best being Rolling Stone’s coverage, about Scientology. Let me boil it down for you, members, yes current members, call it a scientific fact that leads to the enlightenment of the mind. And when the mind is enlightened free of negativity, then one can truly be “clear.” It take thousands of dollars, roughly about $150,000 (according to former members), to be considered “clear.” Not once in the article do they call it a religion. In fact, many nix the idea of “religion.”

  34. LBB, you forgot to mention another “good christian” who is responsible for a multitude of miseries: George W. Bush.

  35. Bigot: a narrow-minded, prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own.
    ***
That pretty much sums up just about everyone who has commented on this blog, especially the “Christian” people. Yeah, I’m looking at you, “Life’s Choices” and “LBB”. Sad, really.

  36. 9:06 AM, Julie….U R so right…I forgot George W. Bush, the worst president in the history of the US and the world. He is not a ‘good christian’, he is a stupid idiot that couldn’t conduct a funeral, let alone a country.
    Food for thought: Abomination Obama-nation.
    signed: Little Bumble Bee.

  37. Where’s rolling eyes to comment @3:25
    Are you really a SCI…

  38. France, Germany, Italy, Greece, and Russia started proceedings about 2 years ago to ban Scientology from their country. It was in USA Today. They recognized SCI for what it is……an evil of evils cult. If I remember correctly, tiny terrible Tommy went to Greece and Italy to talk up SCI, but from last reports, it was to no avail. Yay,Yay & Hooray.

  39. Scientology is a cult. As I’ve made clear, I consider all religions cults. Yes there are good features, but they are far outweighed by the bad. Ego/greed/sex drive cannot be defeated by man. Instead, they power the leadership of all of these “faiths.”
For an interesting perspective on another religion/cult, read “When Men Become Gods” on the fundamentalist latter day saints (fundamentalist Mormons). Unbelievable that the government has turned a blind eye to them in the many decades since their inception. Different, but in many ways just as evil as Scientology.

  40. This is the face of a nervous breakdown and craziness happening right in front of us. She has tats all over her body, dyes her hair purple and talking like a kook. Where are the guys in the white jackets when you need them!!?

  41. What’s sad 9:11 is that these people have so much money, everything they could ever want and still not find happiness. What are they missing? It’s not about money, God will take care of you and it won’t cost you a penny, only faith.

  42. Janet,
Do you remember the movie, “Vanilla Sky” from the mid 90’s ? It freaked me out for months after i saw it, and while I have not seen that particular film since then, I kinda feel strongly that there are some parallels between Tommy’s cult Co$ and the strange chain of events that befall his character in that film. i’m just wondering, and maybe if it were thrown out there, somebody out there might have something interesing to say about it. who knows?
    thx.
    Annie Onymous

  43. And I quote:
“The key to heaven is a personal relationship with Christ Jesus, God in the flesh, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again and is alive forevermore.
    My Answer (the short version)
    Um….no its not.
    (the long version)
    1) Please, please, please read up on brainwashing. What you are spouting, and equally important, why you feel the need to tell everyone, is no different than Scientologists spouting their twisted beliefs. I have news for you…take any zealot from any other religion, cult or belief system and I promise you they are all as convinced as you are that they alone are right.
But wait, *YOU’RE* right, because you have an old book and some common-sense parables that tell you so… *sigh*
    2) If people like you are going to be in Heaven, quite frankly I don’t want to go there when I die.
    3) Imagine walking into a mall and having a person come up to you and tell you that your shoes are crap. You really like your shoes…they feel good and you like their look, but “no no” says the person, only *MY* shoes are right…you can’t go anywhere or do anything unless you’re wearing *these* types of shoes. And I’ll prove it…I have some literature right here that says so. That’s all the proof you’ll ever need because it was written by a shoe expert.
Now I seriously doubt you would act this way to someone if you didn’t agree with their shoe choice, but you have no qualms whatsoever about acting that way when it comes to a matter as personal and private as religion. That takes a whole heap of guts and a bigger heap of ignorance my friend.
    4) Religion can be a beautiful thing, if carried out on a personal level. The moment you start telling me that only your beliefs are right, and everyone else is wrong, you lose all credibility and end up sounding like an a**hole. Stop regurgitating what others tell you and start thinking for yourself.

  44. Beliefs can be great for the believer, they allow the mind to control the body but if you believe a lie then ultimately you are the fool.Groups take personal belief and use it to increase their power, both over the individual and in the world. People are the great deceiver in this world and cant be believed for even an entire sentence. The Qu’ran, Bible and Talmud all start out as the same books believe it or not, the god of the jews, arabs and christians and many more religons is the same “I”, but the groups of ‘people’ who control peoples beliefs have separated things for the purpose of control, the proof is that most of you did not know this. Believe what you want because it’s human to believe with scant proof, and join with other believers and discuss your truths, but shy away from ‘leaders’ and groups. their purpose and cause is for their organization and you are but a tool in their hands.

  45. I would like to add that I think Janeane Garafolo is an exceptional woman, and yes I think she is very pretty as well.
Recall that she is one of the few celebrities who almost immediately questioned the war in Iraq (at peril to her career by the way…anyone recall the outcry against the Dixie Chicks?). Would any of us (little bumble bee?) have the guts to do that when there is personal risk involved? Sure, its easy to spout your beliefs anonymously (i.e. an internet forum such as this one). Try speaking your heart when you might bleed for it. Big difference.
