Pippa already mentioned the canned hair thickener. I’ll just add that the Super Bowl ad featuring Matt Damon and Beckham reflected on how truly haggard they both are close up. Worn out.

In the Eighties the performer George Michael allegedly used coffee grounds to enhance his beard. Looks like David has followed suit. He’s now 50. You can tell he sprays that canned hair on top of the head in the photo based on the odd color.
