Kristin Cavallari’s romance with Chicago Bear Jay Cutler is going strong in spite of the fact that he lives in Chicago. They’ve been living together at his place in the windy (and snowy and COLD ) city since November, but when they get a break they fly to Los Angeles. Jay’s teammates worry that Kristin’s party habits might negatively affect his career. Jay and Kristin talked about getting engaged this year and have been seen looking at engagement rings at jewelers in Chicago. Kristin has already picked out the one she likes.

Kristin Cavallari is in hot water with MTV, and the ink is barely dry on her $100,000 per show contract for “The Hills.” Kristin replaced Lauren Conrad and now narrates the series. MTV wants the show to be perceived as REAL and unscripted so they insist that Kristin NOT date anyone openly except her love interest on the show, Justin Bobby, or whoever. But Kristin is stubborn and she has been dating the former editor of 944 magazine, Sonny Smith, for about six months. She was spending time with him in Las Vegas, somewhat undercover, but couldn’t resist going out in LA and was photographed leaving Philippe restaurant. MTV execs are NOT happy and they gave her a warning. Is this guy worth jeopardizing her job?

We are revealing that pair to be John Mayer and “The Hills” star Kristin Cavallari! They have been hooking up secretly at a mutual friend’s house in the Mt Olympus area of the Hollywood Hills for the past two years! Our source says that Kristin was hesitant to date John publicly because she didn’t want to be added to his long list of conquests, and they were both dating other people off and on. Recently their “friends with benefits” relationship has evolved, and they are actually considering going public.

No doubt Kristin is grateful that he legally changed his name from Nick Crapazano! TMZ speculates that Nick is dating Kristin so he won’t have a hard time getting into Hyde, but we think they’re a cute couple. And there IS a resemblance to her exboyfriend Brody Jenner.

Right before this picture was taken, there was an awkward moment when Hayden Panettiere (above) and Kristin Cavallari ran into each other at Surly Girl on Robertson. Kristin had gift certificates and she was picking out loads of clothes and accessories when Hayden walked in. Hayden is now dating Kristin’s exboyfriend Stephen Colletti – who was also her Laguna Beach costar. Salesclerks worried that there might be antagonism, but the girls were very friendly. Kristin asked how Stephen was doing and they were “really sweet to each other.” Hayden ended up getting the same oversize crocodile Italian clutch bag that Kristin did. Same taste in boyfriends AND handbags.

Kristin Cavallari’s latest boyfriend, hockey player Mike Comrie, might not be thrilled to hear that she’s not exactly sitting at home waiting for his call. Kristin split from Brody Jenner at the end of summer and started dating Mikea few weeks ago. Comrie plays for the Phoenix Coyotes and he spends a lot of time on the road. What’s a girl to do? Kristin was seen at Hyde cuddling up to Sean Stewart ( he’s Rod Stewart’s kid.) Either the mouse is playing while the cat’s away, or Kristin has decided it’s just not fun to be a hockey widow.

Looks like Brody Jenner learned a thing or two from his ambitious girlfriend Kristin Cavallari. Remember a few months back, Brody agreed to pretend they had split up so Kristin could pursue Nick Lachey and make herself more famous. Being photographed with Nick put Kristin on the gossip map and made her a tabloid favorite. Kristin never really dated Nick, she just made sure she was photographed with him and pretended they had a romance. Brody’s fame quotient could use a boost, so now he and Kristin are pretending to be split up again, and HE is getting himself photographed with photo darlings like Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton.
