“ALBERT NOBBS” IS NOT THE MAN HE APPEARS TO BE
The timing is right for a gender switching movie and Glenn Close, 64, (“Fatal Attraction”) looks surprisingly plausible playing a man in “Albert Nobbs.” The movie tells the story of an English woman who disguises herself as a man (Nobbs) to get a job as a butler in 19th century Ireland. The plot thickens when she is told she must share a bed with a visiting man who discovers her secret. There are many romantic and dramatic and amusing complications to follow.
