ELIZABETH MOSS GETS AWAY WITH BEING A SCIENTOLOGIST

For some reason Elizabeth Moss has been able to work non-stop in Hollywood (Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale, and now Shining Girls) and she has escaped all the negative comments about being a Scientologist that Tom Cruise and John Travolta have to live with. Perhaps she gets off easy because she is a second generation Scientologist – she was BORN into it. Also it helps that she politely avoids talking about it in interviews- the most specific thing she has said lately is that Scientology is “misunderstood.” She claims it is not a closed off religion – it is welcoming. (Sure, if you’re willing to take a “personality” test and give them money) We remember back in the 90’s when we broke the news that Tom Cruise was a Scientologist in Star Magazine- the church’s lawyers managed to illegally obtain a copy of my personal phone bill from the phone company and they found the name of my source (a former Scientologist) in order to punish her.

THE INVISIBLE MAN IS NO MATCH FOR ELIZABETH MOSS

How great is it that the star of the new Invisible Man movie is a WOMAN in this updated version? And it’s SO timely – Elisabeth Moss plays a woman tormented by her sociopathic but brilliant and abusive ex-boyfriend. He’s an inventor who fakes his own death and leaves her his fortune so he can stalk her and manipulate her life when he is invisible. Of course no one believes her appalling stories. The film already has good reviews and is not only Time’s Up relevant but really scary.

THE MOVIE “KITCHEN” HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOD

Just seeing this photo of Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy, and Elizabeth Moss in their 1970’s attire filming Kitchen in New York, got us interested in seeing the movie. It’s a comedy/drama about three Hell’s Kitchen mob wives who take over their husbands’ rackets when the mobsters are sent to prison. AND the film was written and directed by a woman – Andrea Berloff. We always have higher expectations for movies made by women – the characters seem more relatable.

ELIZABETH MOSS MIGHT BE THE SMARTEST SCIENTOLOGIST OF THEM ALL

Elizabeth Moss has managed to do what no other Scientologist/actor has been able to achieve – a Best Acting award for A Handmaid’s Tale. This puts her at the top of the heap of celebrity Scientologists, but she’s not talking about it. And she’s not calling anyone a liar. Not only does Moss avoid the subject of Scientology altogether, but she did carefully comment that it “hasn’t impacted her success in Hollywood.” That means people don’t dislike her because of her beliefs, but it also means she doesn’t credit Scientology for HELPING her achieve success. Certainly she is very aware that Leah Remini ALSO won an Emmy for her anti-Scientology series that is revealing the sinister elements that might eventually take down the “church.” Suddenly Leah Remini and Elizabeth Moss are looking like potential enemies. Or maybe not.
