JIMMY FALLON WAS ALMOST FAMOUS HIMSELF WHEN HE MADE THE MOVIE

What surprised us about the crush Jimmy Fallon admitted he had on Kate Hudson while they were filming Almost Famous in 1998 is not that he was too shy to ask her out. We were totally surprised that he was even IN the film! We looked up his character and indeed, it was Jimmy’s first feature film role and he played a young know-it-all road manager. (1998 is also the year Jimmy debuted on SNL- so he wasn’t famous – yet) The movie took place in the early 70’s so Jimmy’s character wore big aviator glasses, a bad haircut, and a mustache – no WONDER he didn’t catch 19 year old Kate’s attention at the time…

Leave it to The National Enquirer to have a different take on the death of Aretha Franklin. The tabloid insists that Aretha made a deathbed confession about a secret showbiz affair that she carried on for several decades. She wrote about this passionate affair with a well known public figure in her biography, but never revealed his name. She was heartbroken when he refused commitment. According to the Enquirer, the secret lover was James Brown! We love this old undated photo we found of both singers in their heyday looking really hot.

IF PITBULL HAS A CRUSH ON J.LO, HE’D BETTER ACT FAST

Gossip is scarce over the holidays with everyone out of town, so Life & Style magazine created a story about Miami rapper Pitbull, 33, having a secret crush on Jennifer Lopez, 45. It’s rather unlikely, but fun to think about. They have collaborated numerous times, but Jennifer was always attached to someone and she’s free now. Pitbull is 5’7” – just about the same height as most of her exes. He can dance, AND he bears a striking resemblance to Jennifer’s nicest ex Cris Judd! But Jennifer and Pitbull are WAY too busy with their careers to spend any quality time together, so we think it ain’t gonna happen.

So we’re betting 25 year old Lana can barely contain her excitement when keeping company with Axl , who is now 50 and somewhat past his prime in the looks department. (That MUSTACHE!) They were photographed leaving Chateau Marmont together and as usual the follicly challenged rocker had his head covered. There was one question we always hoped to ask Whitney Houston and now it will never happen. We wanted to know her reaction to the news that Osama bin Laden had a massive crush on her. It’s nothing new for costars to fall in love during the making of a movie, but in Rob Pattinson’s case, the costar was an elephant. (So Kristen Stewart has nothing to worry about.) Before Rob signed for his role in “Water for Elephants,” the director introduced him to Tai his elephant costar, and Rob was immediately enchanted. He loves animals and agreed to take the part. Reese Witherspoon did most of the on-camera stunts with Tai, but Rob learned a few of his own, just for fun. Rob let her pick him up and he rode around on her. The director observed that Tai developed real feelings for Pattinson (like almost every other woman alive) and it was obvious when they were together. As for Rob, he cried on Tai’s last day of shooting.
