Coming to America

VICTORIA BECKHAM: SOMETIMES SHE FAKES IT

How UNREAL was Victoria Beckham’s Coming to America “reality” show? Well, it seems most of the people on the show – including the traffic cop above – were hired ACTORS. Victoria’s hairdresser and makeup artist were the real thing, but her assistant on the show was also an actress. And of course there were writing credits at the end of the “reality” show. Despite disappointing ratings, the network insists there might be another Beckham special coming up – “Christmas with the Beckhams.” We’ll believe it when we see it.

VICTORIA BECKHAM: TO KNOW HER IS NOT NECESSARILY TO LOVE HER

Did anybody else who watched the Victoria Beckham Coming to America show get the feeling she was insulting the intelligence of us Americans? She desperately wants us to like her, but this show won’t make it happen. First of all, the production had nothing to do with “reality.” Each scene was painstakingly contrived and scripted to make Victoria look clever and funloving. Just as we predicted, the “socialites” luncheon was a travesty. Granted the overdone house was a hoot, but it looked like Victoria gathered that particular group of ladies together just so she could feel superior to them. Victoria IS fun to look at, but she seems shallow, overindulged, pretentious, and way too interested in impressing us. And we WANTED to like her. Last night she and David went out to The Little Door and he doesn’t look at all happy.
