We were as surprised as you are to hear about the “toxicity” on the set of the Ellen Degeneres show. But we were even MORE surprised to note that TMZ has never written a negative word about the Ellen or her show, despite the fact that they MUST have seen this coming! BuzzFeed totally eclipsed TMZ with this scoop and we can tell you why. TMZ and Ellen are both Warner Bros shows, so apparently TMZ was “discouraged” from writing negative info about Ellen. It’s the same kind of intimidation that makes employees afraid to report their bosses, and women afraid to accuse powerful men of crimes. Insiders say powerful Ellen is NOT the nice person she appears to be on TV. We applaud Brad Garrett for being the ONLY celebrity courageous enough to speak the truth about Ellen – of course he’s now blackballed from her show!

Ellen is an immoral disgrace. This has not changed over time.
It was all an act.
I think she has been exposed. Of course she threw her employees under the bus.
I liked her when the show started, she was humble and seemed grateful for her fans. Stopped watching about 3-4 years ago, got tired of hearing how much money and how many houses she has. Plus, what’s up with all that frightening of guests? Just mean, not funny.
So THOSE chickens have finally come home to roost, at long last!
Ellen’s outing as a high-riding, mean-spirited, control freak, was only a matter of time.
Like her predecessor Rosie back in the day, Ellen’s “Queen of Nice” BS was a painfully-thin veneer. The stories of her b*tchery are legion. 🙁
Beneath the facade, she has a chip on her shoulder that can be seen from outerspace. “It” (money, prestige, houses, recognition, etc.) is NEVER enough in Ellen-land.
She should retire and slink-off to a golf course somewhere in the desert (with Portia, finally escaping her hostage situation, to follow).
Like Diva said, it was an act. And then she goes and throws her employees under the bus. One can only hope she gets what’s coming to her.
Ironic, isn’t it. What may very well destroy her career is not her sexual orientation, which she feared before coming out, but that she is outed as a nasty, mean person hiding not who she sleeps with but how she disrespets and treats others. Clearly being gay is the least of her concerns.
Lippp, you on spot on! I’m so glad people are coming forward about this fraud.
I had an encounter with her over 20+ years ago.i believe it was when she had her sitcom. I was working at Disney at the time and she was on our floor. I was in front of her in line for food and I said “hi” to her. She looked at me so crazy, “like how dare you speak to me, don’t you know who I am”. Rosie is another one who I have heard was extremely mean to her employee’s when she had her show. I knew a couple of people who worked on her show and they too said it was a very toxic environment.
This story warms my heart.
I cannot imagine the drive and determination it takes to make it to the top in show business but I can imagine how old it must get to have everyone looking at you or, worse, talking to you all the time.
They won’t have to worry about the little people looking at her for much longer, Dan.
And, how about “sweet” Rachel Ray or Steve Harvey, both of who have had similar complaints. This type of dehumanizing hierarchy is rampant in the media and entertainment industry, on the business side as well.
Rachel Ray isn’t even nice to her staff on TV. She doesn’t even bother to fake niceness.
Andy Cohen needs to go too. And Chris Cuomo. Both massive assholes.
Times up!
As the old saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover
I thought Ellen detested fat people – yet it’s okay for her to carry extra weight apparently. I was outraged when I read about Ellen bullying her boss’s 11 year old son, Ben Gravolet. Ben was a sweet kid who struggled with his weight and 21 year old Ellen loved calling him names when his mother wasn’t around.
She’s fatter than she used to be so I think we should call her Swellen Ellen and give her a taste of her own medicine.
