Now this is what we call NEWS. Pogues singer Shane MacGowan got a new set of teeth! The frontman for the 80’s Irish punk band has long been renowned for his excessive drinking and lifestyle, resulting in numerous missing teeth. After many years, he realized his face was becoming distorted and spent a month in Spain having his dental damage corrected. In the UK, The Pogues were voted one of “50 bands you should see before you die.” We agree.

Kathleen Turner (seen here leaving a restaurant in Santa Monica) doesn’t look as hot as she did in “Body Heat” but she’s still getting work. (We particularly loved her in “Peggy Sue Got Married.”) She’s done a number of plays, and her distinctive husky voice has always been a money maker in animated features. Now she’s got a role on “Californication.”

You’d never guess by the look on his face, but Vinnie Jones is a free man – he was just found not guilty of three counts of assault in a bar brawl in South Dakota. Jones was in South Dakota “hunting pheasant.” No kidding. The guy Vinnie punched sold his story to a British tabloid and made money. Jones really dressed up for court and it paid off. Why anybody would start a fight with him is hard to imagine.

Colin Farrell’s “Ondine” costar Alicja Bachleda, 25, is still the apple of his eye. She plays a “mermaid” and he plays a fisherman who catches her in the movie. They’re pictured here coming out of an LA restaurant. She must be a good influence, Colin used to be a regular in Hollywood clubs or bars, but he’s not any more.

Matthew McConaughey is familiarizing his mini-me little boy Levi with Malibu Beach. Matthew can hardly wait until Levi is big enough to surf and skateboard and bike ride alongside him. He has sports in his future. We wonder if Matthew will teach Levi to play the bongo drums.

Rod Stewart is looking dapper, but very short, as he leaves Cipriani in London with his towering wife Penny Lancaster. Penny and Rod have a 3 year old son named Alastair and she’s been trying for more. Did you know Rod’s other kids, Kimberly, 29, Sean, 28, and Ruby, 21, also live with him at Rod’s LA home. And Rod’s 2 kids with Rachel Hunter – Renee, 16, and Liam, 14, stay two nights a week. That’s quite a houseful of dependant children – but Penny wants more!

Dick Van Patten, the patriarch of the 80’s series “Eight is Enough” showed up at the premier of “Farrah’s Story” with a big bandage on his head. He admitted he’d had cancerous tissue removed. For a fair skinned blue eyed person, he’s given himself a LOT of skin damage over the years. Farrah’s best friend Alana Stewart, who produced the documentary, was also at the premier and Ryan O’Neal was there also, lapping up attention, as usual.

Looks like those rumors that Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood got back together were premature, or just plain wrong. He turned up at Katsuya in search of sushi with a new female companion, who looks like his type. Manson’s apparel resembles a burka more than anything else we can think of. The dog collar gives it an edge.

Seeing this photo of Victoria Gotti’s son Carmine and his fancy car brought back a rush of memories of “Growing Up Gotti.” We realize how much we MISS that show! Why did it ever go off the air, anyway? Can’t we get those boys on other reality shows as bachelors or chefs or whatever? We were most fascinated by all the yelling (not to mention the much-needed subtitles) that went on in their house and when they had those big “homemade” Italian dinners they were served out of huge aluminum foil catering trays on the table. Not to mention the eyebrows. Now that the house has been foreclosed upon, maybe they’ll be motivated to get another show.
Mickey Rourke, 56, is in hog heaven sitting with a table full of models at Bijoux lounge in New York. But he only has eyes for ONE – Victoria’s Secret model Eugenie Volodina, 24, who did not resist his advances. They openly smooched and she didn’t seem to mind his crazy hair – puzzling white “highlights” – or are they extensions?
