It’s hard to imagine that Michael Jackson ever looked so young and innocent. This photo was taken at some long-forgotten event by Brad Elterman in 1979. Michael Jackson, 21, was on a “date” with Tatum O’Neal, who was 16 at the time. Michael had just released “Off The Wall” and his future seemed unlimited. Tatum had won an Oscar for “Paper Moon” and her career was already tapering off. She was reportedly disappointed that Michael just wanted to be “friends” and their relationship went nowhere. Is it a coincidence that drugs were destined to have a major effect on both their lives?

LEONARDO DICAPRIO GETS MENTAL WITH MARION COTILLARD IN “INCEPTION”

Leonardo DiCaprio has left that yacht in the South of France and reported for work on the set of his new film “Inception” where he was seen snuggling up to Marion Cotillard. The plot of this movie is something of a mystery- it’s described as “A sci-fi thriller set within the architecture of the mind.” Writer/director Christopher Nolan is also responsible for the movie “Memento – which was also a mind-bending experience. Giant, building size mirrors were reportedly seen on the set. We’re intrigued.

SMOOTH SAILING FOR JESUS AND MADONNA

Just when you start to think Jesus Luz is on his way OUT of Madonna’s inner circle, he pops up looking more entrenched than ever. There were rumors that Madonna was tiring of Jesus, and that she was setting him up with model agencies and jobs to keep him working and out of her hair. Apparently not. She took him on her concert tour of Europe and they were photographed enjoying a boat ride with her kids Mercy and David in Portofino, Italy, looking like a happy family.

SEAN PENN MADE A HASTY DEPARTURE

Sean Penn startled paparazzi when he burst out the back door of Nobu to try and make a run to his car without being photographed. (Watch that elbow!) As much as he seems to despise photographers, we were surprised when he HIRED one to go along and shoot him while he helped rescue people during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Sometimes these guys come in handy, don’t they? We get the feeling that Sean hates to photographed because he doesn’t want his wife Robin to know where he’s going.

TORI SPELLING TAKES THE FAMILY FOR A RIDE

We’re not sure exactly what Tori Spelling is selling these days, (TV show? Book? Jewelry?) but she definitely knows how to create a photo opportunity. Tori and her husband Dean McDermott took the kids for a bike ride in LA. Little Liam seemed quite relaxed with Dean, but Stella was holding on for dear life with Tori.

GORDON RAMSAY DOES HIS OWN GROCERY SHOPPING

Gordon Ramsay has been spending far more time in TV studios than he has in kitchens, so we were surprised to see him doing his own marketing at Ralph’s in Malibu. The temperamental “Hell’s Kitchen” star has had a rough year- he fronts a number of expensive restaurants that are struggling in this recession. And not long ago a woman in the UK sold an explosive story to the tabloids, claiming to be his mistress for 7 years. It was hushed up and his 13 year marriage to Tana survived (above with son Jack) and they’re shopping together in flip-flops.

ANNALYNNE MCCORD REMINDS US OF SOMEONE

Every time we look at AnnaLynne McCord we think of a young Farrah Fawcett. She shares a lot of the same traits – she looks like a fresh California beach girl, she has a slim athletic body and she’s got dazzling teeth and tons of wavy hair. She began as a supporting player on 90210 and now she’s the break-out star of the show. Not a bad start.

PAULA ABDUL: THANKS FOR NOTHING, BUDDY!

Paula Abdul innocently stumbled out of her car in a Beverly Hills garage and was not at all surprised when paparazzi started snapping her furiously. (We’re betting that secretly she kind of likes it.) Anyway, some guy walking by decided to show off and made a big deal out of pretending to “protect” Paula from the paps but just ended up manhandling her and messing up her hair and clothes. How presumptuous! Paula was polite, but clearly, she was NOT amused.

COURTNEY LOVE CHANGED HER MIND

Courtney Love was spotted in New York walking around in rather elaborate attire – she almost looks like she’s on her way home from a festive night of partying. Apparently she realized she was overdressed and she popped into the Diesel store where they were having a sale. When she left the store she was wearing a brand new – more casual – outfit from head to toe. Improvement, or not?

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND JESSICA BIEL ARE IN SYNC

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel look more like an old married couple every day in every way. Their routine remains the same – whichever coast they’re on. They work out together, jog together, and walk the dogs together. At night they go out to restaurants together. Clubs, not so much. The next step is either marriage, or boredom and drifting…
