MICKEY ROURKE LETS HIS HAIR DOWN

Mickey Rourke’s looks never cease to fascinate. A few years back he started experimenting with hair extensions. We imagine his close friend and hairdresser Giuseppe Franco has fun dreaming up new hair augmentations for his actor buddy. Extensions can be difficult to conceal and Mickey often wore a knit cap. Maybe that’s why he moved on to wigs. And he has quite a collection of hair colors and styles in his wigs – salt and pepper, blonde highlights, and sometimes a bouffant style.

SACHA BARON COHEN CRASHED THE BAYWATCH SET AND KELLY KEPT HER COOL

Sacha Baron Cohen will show up anywhere there happens to be a camera in order to promote his new movie The Brothers Grimsby. He always appears in character – this time it’s a sports goon named Nobby – for months before his films are released, like he did for Borat. Today he turned up on the Baywatch set in Miami and Zac Efron and The Rock showed him around and introduced him to Kelly Rohrbach. She insisted it was too cold to take off her robe and pose with Nobby in her red swimsuit.

JACK NICHOLSON AND HIS SON RAY HAVE A LOT IN COMMON

It’s nice to see that Jack Nicholson, 78, and his son Ray, 24, are still good buddies. They share a love of basketball and have been going to Lakers games together since Ray was a little boy. Ray, who bears a resemblance to his dad, has worked as an assistant director and done some acting – he appeared on the TV series R.I.P. last year. Whether he will evolve into a ladies man like dad remains to be seen.

THE TROUBLE WITH WHISKEY, TANGO, FOXTROT

We had high hopes that Tina Fey had FINALLY find a movie script to match her own humor and intelligence, but it hasn’t happened yet. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot SOUNDED like a great idea – it’s about a New York female journalist who gets herself reassigned to Afghanistan, resulting in culture shock. A true “fish out of water” movie. It SOUNDED LIKE it might be an updated sophisticated version of Goldie Hawn’s hit “Private Benjamin. No such luck. It’s impossible for women to identify with Fey’s character because she walks and talks like a hard-boiled MAN. It immediately became apparent that the writer is a MAN who is more interested in explosions and stunts than the reaction of his female character to her bizarre surroundings. Private Benjamin had a female writer and this would have been a far better and more realistic movie with a female writer. It’s about time Hollywood woke up and hired women to write about women.

BAYWATCH STAR KELLY ROHRBACH IS NO DUMB BLONDE

It can’t be easy slipping into Pamela Anderson’s red swimsuit for the Baywatch movie, but Kelly Rohrbach, 26, is more than prepared – in fact, she might be OVER-qualified! And not only in the looks department. She graduated from Georgetown University in 2012 with a degree in theater, and went on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. When she started acting she only got a few tiny roles on TV, but everything changed when she started modeling and immediately appeared in Sports Illustrated. THAT’S what got her the starring role in Baywatch. Hopefully the Zac Efron curse won’t cause this movie to flop.

THEY DID IT! (JERRY HALL AND RUPERT MURDOCH)

That surprise engagement has quickly evolved into a wedding! Former model Jerry Hall, 59, and billionaire Rupert Murdoch, 84, already had a civil ceremony and on Saturday they’ll have a big church wedding. This is his fourth marriage and Jerry’s first. (Remember – she never legally wed Mick Jagger.) She brings four kids, aged 18 to 31, to the union and Rupert has six children aged 12 to 57. This coupling would make a great reality show.

PIERCE BROSNAN: “MEN ARE WHAT THEIR MOTHERS MADE THEM”

It is said that you can learn a lot about a man by observing how he treats his mother. We’ve always found that to be true – and Pierce Brosnan, 62, is a nice example of a man who treats his mother and his women well. Pierce and his mom Mary are often photographed together – above, he took her out to lunch in Madrid. Pierce has always been kind of a one woman man- after his wife Cassandra died of cancer, the despondent actor thought he could never love again. Ten years later he married American journalist Keely Shaye Smith and they have been together through thick and thin. He seems to have little in common with James Bond.

KATY PERRY IS NOT AS BOLD AS SHE WANTS US TO THINK

Katy Perry donned her handmade “HILLARY CLINTON IS A BAD ASS” t –shirt to entertain at a Hillary Clinton fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Katy, 31, is a huge supporter of Cinton, but she’s almost APOLOGETIC about it. She waffles “I’m not voting for her because she’s a woman, I’m voting for her because she’s the right person for the job.” We wonder why Katy (and many women her age) are reluctant to declare they are feminists and want to elect the first female president. (Fear of disapproval?) Being qualified and being a woman are TWO good reasons to vote for Hillary. Being female will be an ASSET for our next president.

PARIS JACKSON IS A BOTTLE BLONDE

She’s seventeen now and Paris Jackson is doing as she pleases. Her platinum blonde hair is cute but we’re not crazy about the cigarette stashed behind her right ear like James Dean. She has reportedly been seen at AA meetings for drinking, but today she was walking out of Starbucks.

WHY DON’T WE FEEL SORRY FOR ERIN ANDREWS?

Despite being a feminist, we find ourselves oddly detached and somewhat unsympathetic about Erin Andrews’ 75 million dollar lawsuit against the Marriott Hotel where she was secretly filmed naked. Her stalker, Michael David Barrett, who did the filming, is now in jail. But the video is somewhere on the internet. Do we feel less sympathetic because Erin feels SO SORRY for herself? Her sobbing in the courtroom about how her life has been ruined, that she is a broken soul, and even her love life has been negatively affected, is off-putting. (Before the crime, we had never heard of Erin and her career has since blossomed.) We couldn’t help but think about countless women who are raped and brutalized and left for dead, but the criminal is NEVER caught and there is NO ONE to sue. Since we saw the courtroom “poor little me” histrionics we actually feel LESS sympathetic for this beautiful successful woman. Wallowing in self-pity is not pretty. The sole perpetrator has been caught and punished. Being embarrassed is not the same as being raped or mauled. Is there a greedy lawyer pushing her to do this? If she wins, we hope she will donate the money to women’s causes.
