Gigi Hadid decided she wanted her friends to really relax and enjoy her 24th birthday party and not feel obliged to dress up in suits, ties, and high heels. She declared it a denim party so everyone could wear their most comfortable jeans, and she held her party at a hip new NY restaurant, L’Avenue, situated on the top two floors of Saks Fifth Avenue. Like it or not, California casual is infiltrating all of New York.

No sooner did The National Enquirer write about Dynasty star Linda Evans “Living out her days alone as a recluse” than Linda turned up at a Princess Grace tribute in Monaco with pony-tailed Dallas star Patrick Duffy. (TWO 80’s primetime soap stars!) Linda DOES live on a 70 acre ranch in Washington state -she moved there to be closer to JZ Knight, a “spiritual advisor” who has been described as a cult leader. Knight claims to “channel” a 35,000 year old “spirit” who gives advice. She may lack common sense, but Linda has always been an exceptionally nice and kind person – especially with fans. Nice to see she’s out and about…

Easter is a big day for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton and her three sons. First the group went to church together and afterward they stopped off at Ralph’s supermarket on La Brea (our neighborhood!) to pick up some snacks -cheese, drinks etc. (Our spy says they shopped like a married couple) Armed with treats, the family plus one, arrived at the home of Gwen’s parents for holiday dinner. Blake really seems to get along with Gwen’s sons.

Nice to see a happily blended family in Hollywood. Chris Pratt took his fiancé Katherine Schwarzenegger to mass in Santa Monica on Easter Sunday along with his son Jack. Jack, 6, lives with his mother – Chris’s ex-wife Anna Faris – and the three adults seem to get along really well. Chris brought Jack along on many of his early dates with Katherine to make sure the chemistry was right before he took the relationship to the next level. When they divorced, Chris and Anna agreed to live no more than 6 miles apart so they could share custody of Jack. Apparently the Easter Bunny gave Jack the stuffed lion he’s carrying.

Lots of celebrities show up to help and serve food when the skid row LA Mission downtown has a special holiday meal for the homeless. Rocket to volunteer with them at the Easter meal on Good Friday to teach him about giving back.

It was VERY disappointing to hear Amber Heard’s charges of violence, substance abuse, etc, against Johnny Depp when they were divorcing, because we didn’t realize the awful person he had become. We REALLY wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when we learned about him mistreating crew members on his films, we knew Amber was right. But there’s MORE – Amber says she was warned and feared being blacklisted for work in Hollywood if she told the truth about Johnny. After she spilled the beans, Amber DID lose work, and now it turns out Johnny also tried to get her fired from Aquaman. This will hopefully be detailed in court, but it clearly illustrates the way women are treated in Hollywood. Thank you, Amber!

Charlize Theron has finally addressed the delicate issue of her seven year old son Jackson dressing like a girl. (She also has a three year old daughter, August.) When Charlize adopted her first baby she introduced him to the world as a boy. Jackson has been photographed through the years wearing skirts and long braided hair. Charlize said ”Jackson looked at me when she was three years old and said ‘I am not a boy!’ Now I have two beautiful daughters and like any parent, I want to protect them and see them thrive.”

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Uma Thurman onscreen and she’s looking particularly good while promoting her new Netflix series Chambers. (premiers April 26) It’s described as a psychological horror series about a teenage girl who has a heart transplant. The well-intentioned and well-to-do parents (Uma and Tony Goldwyn) of the heart donor become involved with the Apache Indian girl who received their daughter’s heart. And, of course, the Indian girl starts taking on some creepy characteristics of her heart donor. Reviewers praise Uma’s performance more than they do the supernatural story, but it’s worth a look…

Okay, we admit it- we have a weird fascination with Mickey Rourke’s evolving appearance. For quite awhile, Mickey’s ever-changing face (due to cosmetic surgery) was the focus of our curiosity. But for the past few years, it has been Mickey’s HAIR that attracts attention. He started with a few extensions and worked his way up to full wigs. It’s his odd placement of the hairpieces, even more than the odd style, that draws attention. Suri Cruise was walking down the street in Manhattan with friends when she spotted these beautiful spring flowers in full bloom. She found them so appealing that she had to pull out her phone and photograph them from all sides. Suri just turned 13 and it looks like Katie Holmes did a good job of raising her as a single mother. Her father Tom Cruise remains true to Scientology and chooses not to spend time with is daughter. Look what he’s missing…
