THIS IS WHAT YOUR BOYFRIEND WOULD BE SHOPPING FOR TOMORROW IF IT WERE 1970
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Liev Schreiber, who plays tough-guy Ray Donovan, apparently doesn’t have staffers to do schlepping for him. He walked from his building to his parking garage in New York with a wagon loaded with items he was taking somewhere for Thanksgiving. His cart was so full he had to stop and rearrange the bags when they fell. He pulled the cart into the garage to load up his car before taking off.

Every time we see Bradley Cooper, Irina Shayk, and their little girl Lea, Bradley is carrying their daughter and looks way more content than Irina. Don’t know if the rumors are accurate – that the couple is having problems. Bradley doesn’t drink and is happy staying home when he’s not working, while Irina wants to go out and have fun. Maybe they don’t talk about marriage because they’re not absolutely certain it’s a great idea. But Bradley is just about the happiest father we’ve ever seen.

While all eyes have been feasting on the aborted relationship of SNL doofus Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande, another SNL celebrity romance has flourished. It was a huge deal when SNL writer and Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost surprised everyone and started dating – of all people- Scarlett Johansson last year. They spent much of the summer together and are more inseparable than ever. Scarlett likes a smart funny guy (He’s a Harvard grad) and both grew up in New York so they have a lot in common. This is our new favorite couple…

The LA Times just gave Jerry Lee Lewis a rave review for his weekend performance in Cerritos, and we are ASTONISHED by the fact that he’s still performing. He’s 83 now and has outlived and out-performed almost all of his 1950’s rock n’ roll contemporaries. (Little Richard is still around, but not performing) Jerry was an original Bad Boy – he married his 13 year old second cousin and two of his 8 wives died “under mysterious circumstances.” We were surprised to learn that billionaire playboy Steve Bing is Jerry’s biggest fan and has taken over his career. Jerry was mired in drugs, health problems, and IRS debts when Bing stepped in and cleaned up his life while producing his music. HE was at the Cerritos show, cheering Jerry on.
Note from Janet: Above, sometime in the 80’s I was able to visit Jerry in his dressing room after a show. He was a delightful but scary gentleman. Also in the small room were Lisa Marie Presley and Bob Dylan. Nobody realized I was a tabloid reporter.
Rita Ora walked out of a BBC Radio1 Studios in London in a glamorous but ridiculously skimpy outfit for a chilly evening. There was an enthusiastic crowd to greet her and one guy was hell-bent on getting a selfie with Rita. He rambunctiously reached out his big paw to stop her and came thisclose to grabbing her chest. Rita quickly reacted and managed to twist out of his way – but maybe she will re-think her wardrobe choices in the future. The handsy guy did NOT get that selfie.

The Soul Train Awards show is always a fashion extravaganza, and Erykah Badu took first place for most courageous look of the night. Erykah nabbed this outfit, head to toe, right off of Rick Owens’ runway. Questions abound: how DID she manage to move in the towering futuristic wire headpiece, and how DID she manage to speak with that harness hooked into her mouth? Few performers would even attempt this look and it’s appropriate that Erykah accepted the Legend Award at the event last night.

In The Front Runner, Hugh Jackman nails the role of the idealistic presidential hopeful Gary Hart, who, in 1987, had droves of devoted youthful supporters and was predicted to win the 1988 election. Hart was outraged when reporters sniffed out a potential scandal and started digging into his private life. They found evidence of cheating with a young woman from Miami, Donna Rice. Before this, politicians had been “protected” – newspaper editors avoided scandal. But more women in the newsrooms and technology changed that old boys club.
Hart arrogantly refused to answer questions about adultery and fearing the worst, he dropped out of running. Here’s where the movie was a huge disappointment: People were a bit unsure about his guilt UNTIL The National Enquirer published the famous cover photo above. THAT ended Hart’s career, but there was NO mention in the film! The tabloid should get credit for this public service! Too bad The Enquirer is not interested in personal accountability for politicians TODAY…
We’re even MORE impressed with the new Will & Grace since we learned how much MONEY the show earns for charities: a million dollars since the Oct 1 season premier! According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers hand out tickets to their live tapings to various charities to auction off. The charities are happy and ticket buyers also get a chance to meet the cast. The show’s producer Max Mutchnick explains that in the ten years they were off the air “it’s who we have become.” Not only do they raise money for charity, but they get a very enthusiastic audience…
We hope Ben Affleck realizes how lucky he is to have Jennifer Garner for an ex-wife. Despite all his shenanigans that led up to their split, Jennifer has never become bitter or vengeful. They had a very civilized and modern divorce with no conflict over child custody or anything else. Jennifer continues to encourage Ben’s interaction with the kids and she maintains a good relationship with her in-laws. Above, Jennifer picked up her former mother-in-law and her daughter after they finished shopping in Brentwood.
