This “internet personality” Jake Paul, was out partying in Hollywood last night and we found what he was wearing rather interesting. He calls it a Louis Vuitton bulletproof vest, but we doubt that LV has much to do with it. It so happens fake Louis Vuitton bulletproof items of all kind are popping up for sale on the internet – that includes, backpacks, luggage, jackets, even guns – at a wide array of prices. It might even inspire LV to offer the real thing…

COMMERCIAL OR WORK OF ART?

We are STUNNED every time we see this brilliant commercial for Lacoste sportswear. It’s magnificence makes Dior ads look like chopped liver. Edith Piaf sings while a young couple argue and split apart and eventually reunite with an intensity and passion beyond words. How wonderful to see special effects used for something beautiful instead of superhero movies! A French company called Megaforce created this work of art.

LISA LAMPANELLI: WHERE CREDIT IS DUE

Back in 2012, insult comic Lisa Lampanelli, 57, had gastric sleeve surgery and lost 107 pounds. She promptly divorced her husband and decided to quit doing stand-up and hosting celebrity roasts, and become – of all things – a life coach! She’s got the whole thing going nowadays with workshops, podcasts etc. Nice to see that she’s still enjoying her new shape AND she wants to help others re-direct their lives. We like success stories…

RUSSELL CROWE OPERATES A NON-THREATENING VEHICLE

Russell Crowe may appear to be mild-mannered as he rides an electric scooter in Stockholm (where his band is recording) but he’s preparing to scare the daylights out of you! Crowe just signed to star in a road rage film called “Unhinged.” It’s about a mother who honks her horn at the WRONG time, and an ordinary incident develops into a sinister story with a terrifying conclusion. This PLAUSIBLE situation is far more frightening than a possessed doll or a haunted house – it’s real life madness. We’re also looking forward to seeing Russell play the disgusting Roger Ailes in The Loudest Voice later this month…

BOBBY CANNAVALE AND PETER DINKLAGE HAVE HISTORY TOGETHER

SO nice to see that Peter Dinklage and Bobby Cannavale have remained friends after all these years! They co-starred in a sweet little film, The Station Agent, back in 2003. The low budget movie got a lot of attention and independent film recognition. It actually jump-started both of these actors careers. (If you haven’t seen it, this character study is worth looking for on Netflix or wherever) Both actors have found great success since then, but apparently they haven’t forgotten where they came from! Peter and Bobby had lunch today at Locanda Verde in NYC.

KELLY OSBOURNE HAS A PIN-UP GIRL MOMENT

And while we’re on the subject of Kelly Osbourne, we came across this photo taken a few years ago of Kelly posing in front of our vintage stereo for a magazine layout. She looked slim and cute the day of the shoot – and she had a boyfriend with a long beard waiting for her. He was a tall good looking guy, in spite of the beard. Kelly never seems to be hard up for male company…

Kelly Osbourne looks like she’s having the time of her life with this new boyfriend and we’re happy for her. Jimmy Q may call himself a skater, but he’s a DANDY, if there ever was one, and he loves getting dressed up and going to fancy places. Kelly is, of course, the connected girl who gets INVITED to lots of fabulous events and she enjoys having a fashionable and eccentric date. This is, indeed, a match made in heaven and we hope they both realize that fact and appreciate their time together…

THINGS ARE LOOKING UP FOR MACAULAY CULKIN

As usual, Macaulay Culkin was very low key about his appearance at the premier of his new movie Changeland. The film was written and directed by Macaulay’s friend Seth Green – it’s a comedy about a guy who discovers his wife has been cheating right before he arranged to take her on a romantic vacation to Thailand. The guy invites his longtime male friend on the vacation instead, and the two have adventures that cause them to re-evaluate their lives. Macaulay has been seeing Brenda Song for two years now and he looks all the better for it. (Except for that cigarette)

GIGI HADID IS A TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW

Everybody tries to outdress each other at the CFDA Awards (Council of Fashion Designers of America) so it’s quite a spectacle. There was a lot of the Same Old Thing, but Gigi Hadid did not disappoint. She arrived with Virgil Abloh, the designer for Louis Vuitton that Kanye West aspires to be, and she’s beautifully attired in LV. Her outfit is layered and complicated with a pants-pleated skirt combo, long 80’s inspired jacket, and sash with crossbody bags. Worthy of a design event.

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT ADAM DRIVER

Above, Adam Driver always looks surprised when he’s accosted by fans for selfies etc, but he happily obliges. Early on, Adam said due to his off-beat looks, he never expected to be a leading man, but he was SO wrong. Right now he’s appearing on Broadway in Burn This with Keri Russell, and his film The Dead Don’t Die opens this month. Jim Jarmusch concocted the comedy zombie movie about a sleepy little town called Centerville, where bad things start to happen. The hipster laden cast is amazing – Adam, plus Bill Murray, Chloe Sevigny, Iggy Pop, Tilda Swinton, Tom Waits, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Rosie Perez, and Luka Sabbat.
