Is it just us or do other people thinks it’s odd to see someone wearing sunglasses on a rainy day? Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are shopping in Paris in inclement weather, but that doesn’t stop them from sporting their big dark glasses. Do they remove them when they get INSIDE the stores? Maybe they’re afraid no one will realize they are celebrities without the shades. Actually the big guy carrying the umbrella draws a lot of attention to the twins already.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen seem more at home attending fashion events these days than Hollywood award shows. They’re keeping company with New York’s top designers since their high end collection “The Row” became so successful. The twins, now 24, were covered up in their signature black and white at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York and brought a model, Sasha Pivovarova, wearing one of their outfits. Being accepted into New York’s upper echelon fashion world is not easy.

MARY-KATE OLSEN LOOKS PROFESSIONAL IN LONDON

Mary-Kate Olsen , who recently split with her boyfriend Nate Lowman, and her sister Ashley (not pictured) are in London to see fashion shows (including Burberry) and they’re getting some business of their own done. The Olsens visited a North London warehouse for some reason and Mary-Kate looked smart and professional in her asymmetrical layered zipper coat and huge buckle bag. She’s a walking advertisement for her own fashion lines.

MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN ARE TURNING THEIR BOYFRIENDS INTO MODELS

When Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched their menswear lines, their first “customers” were their respective boyfriends Nate Lowman and Justin Bartha. The twins gave Justin and Nate whatever they wanted from the lines and the guys like them so much they ended up wearing the clothes almost every day. They both have different styles, but somehow they agree on the clothes. Mary-Kate and Ashley were delighted and talked their guys into appearing in a series of ads promoting the clothing lines.

GET IN LINE! MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN ARE SELLING CLOTHES OUT OF A TRUCK

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen work hard for the money. The girls have yet another clothing line – this is an affordable sporty collection called Olsenboye – aimed at teens for JC Penny. They’re promoting the new line in a pink ice cream truck that’s parked in a different NYC neighborhood every day. Clothes are both shown and sold from the truck and the money goes to charity. Cute idea. We hope to see the truck on Robertson Blvd.

MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN ARE TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

When is the last time you saw Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looking so blonde – or so happy? The twins are in Canada promoting their “Elizabeth & James” fashion line on the Muchmusic TV show. We’re guessing they’re happy because, despite the recession, business is good for them. It’s not often celebrity designers can start off at Wal-Mart and end up at posh stores like Barneys. The Olsens still have their tween line at Wal-Mart, they have their Elizabeth & James line at upscale department stores, and their high end collection “The Row” at exclusive boutiques.

THE OLSEN TWINS JOIN FORCES TO HUNT FOR HANDBAGS

We haven’t seen Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen just hanging out and shopping together for quite awhile. After so many years of togetherness, they are, indeed, leading separate lives. Here they are in the handbag department in Barneys on Madison Avenue – we forget how tiny they are until we see them around a lot of normal sized people. Note Mary-Kate’s sheer shoes.
