HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW

It’s been a very busy week in the political world with the biggest story being the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump – here’s what we know. There was a reason that Donald was heard screaming for his SHOES as the secret service carried him away from the podium moments after the shooting. He wears LIFTS in his shoes to appear taller, and vain Donald didn’t want the press to photograph his shoes with the special inserts in them!

Speaking of Donald, as he accepted the Republican nomination for president on Thursday, he wore a bandage over his ear that was grazed by that bullet and now we just heard that he’s scheduled to undergo minor reconstructive plastic surgery to replace the cartilage that was blown away. Donald has turned to a top Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and is planning to have the surgery within the next few weeks. My source says that he could have gotten in earlier, but Donald enjoys the image of himself with the bandage as he feels it makes him appear stoic and macho.

The other big news is the continued backlash against President Joe Biden’s campaign and we just heard this scoop. The biggest Democratic donors were recently informed via a secure conference call that Biden will NOT be the nominee and to expect an announcement before the end of July. This isn’t speculation -it’s a done deal- and the powers that be are currently drafting a graceful way for Biden to bow out.

The Olympics are all over the news since they’re starting on July 27, and my source says that last minute plans are currently underway to get Taylor Swift to perform at either the opening or closing ceremony. Seems that ticket sales to the events haven’t been as great as expected, so they’re hopeful that an appearance by Taylor could somehow change that. She hasn’t signed on yet, as there are a lot of moving parts to navigate, but expect a big announcement if it all works out as the Olympic committee hopes.

Finally, a sad week for celebrity deaths, including Dr. Ruth, Bob Newhart and Shannen Doherty. Speaking of Shannen, her former husband, the handsome Ashley Hamilton just revealed his own cancer diagnosis during a statement he released to the press on her passing. We just heard this though – Ashley is planning to launch a cancer foundation in Shannen’s memory and raise awareness of the disease and hopefully raise funds in the process. He’s leaning on his stepfather, the wealthy but notoriously frugal Rod Stewart to kick things off with a large donation. We will keep you posted if Rod funds the endeavor.

Cancer Christian Scientist Church Val Kilmer

VAL KILMER: THE CHURCH CAN DO NO WRONG

We haven’t watched the new Amazon Prime documentary Val because, frankly, it seemed like it might be depressing. Through the years we’ve watched Val Kilmer obviously suffering and hiding from the fact that he had cancer. He denied he was sick, but every time we saw him he looked worse. Back in 2015 he had a big lump in his throat and was apparently diagnosed at that time. Since he was a devoted Christian Scientist, he arranged for a “spiritual advisor” from the church to pray away his malady with him. When he didn’t appear to be improving, his two children, Mercedes and Jack, (from his marriage to Joanne Whalley) BEGGED him to seek traditional medical treatment. Eventually he relented and DID have surgery, radiation, and chemo, but would it have been more successful if he had done it sooner? Val survived but he was left suffering with a feeding tube (he cannot eat) and a tracheotomy tube. Val still insists that praying is what healed him and it was the medical treatment that left him to suffer with the tubes…

OOPS! MICHAEL DOUGLAS DIDN’T MEAN TO IMPLICATE HIS WIVES IN DISCUSSING DISEASE

Both Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’s first wife Diandra are very agitated about the fact that Michael has implied that his throat cancer was caused by a sex disease. Both women want the world to know that they do NOT carry HPV, and Michael has started backtracking. However, it’s clear to us that Michael is referring back to his days as a raving sex-addict. Michael was a cheater who bedded almost every leading lady (are you reading this, Sharon Stone?) every attractive bit player, producer’s daughters, and his wife’s best friends. In his heyday, he was known for his trysts at every fancy hotel in LA and New York. He thinks it was those youthful indiscretions that led to his cancer, not so much the smoking and drinking, but who knows?

RYAN O’NEAL IS STILL CASHING IN ON FARRAH’S MEMORY

Ryan O’Neal has been making a huge deal out of his prostate cancer and of course, there’s a good reason that has nothing to do with honesty. The dramatic announcements (is it stage FOUR or stage TWO, Ryan? Make up your mind!) were well timed to arouse pity and draw attention to his new book “Both Of Us- My Life With Farrah.” So he’s still cashing in on his relationship with Farrah, perhaps because not many people care about HIS life story. On his website, Ryan modestly describes himself as an “iconic actor, Oscar nominee, and true movie star.” Miraculously, he’s not too sick to schedule a cross-country book tour, starting in New York Tuesday.

George Hamilton, 72, is on the cover of The National Enquirer because he is “battling skin cancer” but in fact, he’s had skin cancer for at least ten years. He’s had lesions removed through years and has only recently cut back on his sun exposure and switched to spray tans. Tanning addict George was one of the last people to give up using sun reflectors for his face! His cancer treatments are over and now he’s in New York rehearsing for a 9 month tour of the musical “La Cage Au Folles.” Luckily, he also has a 38 year old girlfriend, Barbara Sturm, who happens to be a doctor

DENNIS HOPPER: HE’S NOT TOO SICK TO GET A DIVORCE

We confess we are perplexed by Dennis Hopper’s decision to DIVORCE his wife Victoria, considering he’s in the late stages of cancer. They’ve been married almost fourteen years – that’s Dennis’s longest marriage out of five – and they have a 6 year old daughter, Galen. Friends of Dennis say it’s obviously about the money – that he wants her cut out of the will. People on Victoria’s side say that Dennis is incapacitated mentally from the drugs he’s taking and making bad decisions. Two of Dennis’s adult kids have been living with him and Victoria at his compound in Venice, California, and he has another daughter he hasn’t spoken to in years. Why would a dying man go to the trouble to divorce the wife he’d been getting along with until now? We’re confused. Any lawyers out there with opinions on this?

Cancer Oops! Patrick Swayze Rumors

PATRICK SWAYZE IS STILL ALIVE AND KICKING

Patrick Swayze takes all those inaccurate and exaggerated media reports about his declining health to heart, and that’s painful to imagine. Early last year when The Enquirer reported he had “weeks to live,” Patrick went out of his way to prove them wrong. Yesterday a Florida radio station (both stations under suspicion, deny it) started the rumor that Patrick had died and it was picked up on Twitter. Even Wikipedia reportedly amended Patrick’s page temporarily. Swayze was so incensed he released this recent photo with his wife, indicating he is not bedridden, as assumed. It’s a dilemma – ill celebrities DO deserve some privacy, but they ARE famous, and fans and gossip readers continue to devour photos and information about them.

HER FRIENDS ATTEND PREMIER OF FARRAH'S STORY

Dick Van Patten, the patriarch of the 80’s series “Eight is Enough” showed up at the premier of “Farrah’s Story” with a big bandage on his head. He admitted he’d had cancerous tissue removed. For a fair skinned blue eyed person, he’s given himself a LOT of skin damage over the years. Farrah’s best friend Alana Stewart, who produced the documentary, was also at the premier and Ryan O’Neal was there also, lapping up attention, as usual.

FARRAH FAWCETT DOCUMENTARY AIRS ON NBC MAY 15

It’s not looking good for Farrah. Her family and friends are visiting her at her Wilshire Blvd condo, but she isn’t leaving home. Ryan O’Neal admits she’s lost her famous hair and no longer cares. She’s essentially bedridden and doesn’t speak much. Her video diary of her cancer battle in the US and Germany now has an airdate on NBC: May 15. The two hour special was shot mostly with her own video camera, operated by her friend Alana Stewart. Ryan, Jaclyn Smith, and Kate Jackson appear in the video, which is narrated by Farrah. We’d hoped for a happy ending. Somehow the airdate makes everything seem so final…and a little ominous.

Redmond O’Neal was photographed Saturday leaving St John’s hospital where he visited his mother Farrah Fawcett. Farrah recently returned from Germany looking frail after cancer treatments. Sadly, she is reportedly unconscious and the family has been gathering. Despite this tragic turn of events, Redmond managed to get arrested for drug possession yet again on Sunday morning and remains in jail. It looks like Farrah’s documentary “A Wing and a Prayer” will not have a happy ending.
