You’ve gotta give Betsey Johnson credit – she always comes bouncing back. We remember her first efforts designing for New York’s Paraphernalia – her clothes were a revelation – cute and original – and affordable. She’s had a lot of ups and downs since then- designing for Alley Cat and her own collections. She’s gone bankrupt, had stores open and close, but young girls still love her playful vintage-inspired designs. (We fondly remember one of her fashion shows at New York’s Danceteria in the 80’s – the models were all doused with buckets of water and walked the runway dripping wet.) Betsey is showing her latest collection at Macy’s in Las Vegas – no water involved
