Anne Hathaway is busily promoting her latest work – The Devil Wears Prada II and Mother Mary – in New York , and we couldn’t help but notice the shoes she is wearing. Her Versace platform heels add around 7 0r 8 inches to her height. An odd choice because Anne is already a respectable 5’8″ tall. They look a bit treacherous and remind us that women will wear almost anything if it makes them feel powerful. What do you think?

Like them: love the toe and the straps, but find the shape of the heel doesn’t suit the rest of the shoe. I like that the platform appears subtle because of the way it aligns smoothly with the upper and that the toe is a defined shape, but that heel (which I have on some of my older shoes) is a bit Salvador Dali for the rest of the look. I’d prefer a straight, thick block heel, but slightly rotated so the hard edges don’t fall at a typical angle, like the Cayan Tower in Dubai, the Evolution Tower in Moscow or the Ocean Heights in Dubai (couldn’t find actual shoes with the heel I envision).
